I have a question.

I never played anything related to Borderlands. Should i pick Borderlands 2?

SteamOS is still alive with a new Beta, although it's a rather uninteresting one

Indeed, Valve has a magical power.... the magical power of MONEY

Quoting: Cyba.Cowboy* Too few "AAA" titles are still being brought to Steam/SteamOS - and Valve is not pushing hard enough to change this.

Yep, clearly there wasn't much effort behind this... In fact, I almost wonder why Valve even bothered at all.
Actually they do something.
Why do You think that some AAA games (like Metro Redux or Dying Light) has a DRMFREE Windows version but the Linux version is steam exclusive? I think Valve is subsidizing Linux ports with the condition that those ports must be Steam exclusives.
@Beamboom

Nope , money and fame doesn't mean anything.

Look at the Windows Phone. We are talking about Microsoft.

Quoting: FeistAnd to think that for a short time I was naive enough to believe that Valve would support their "SteamOS & the Steammachines" in a similar way that Microsoft supports their Xboxes or Sony their Playstations with corresponding OS:s.

Not with exclusive titles nor to the same extent in any other way but still...a strong and commited effort by Valve to challenge Windows as "The PC-Gaming OS of Choice". To say that my expectations fell short would be a truly absurd understatement.
Intention was bringing attention to Linux at first place. At that time devs didn't know anything about it , even game engines didn't support it.

Hell , even i owe my full time Linux usage to Valve. It was impossible for me before , without games.

We need Bethesda like companies and their games to grow.

Mantis Burn Racing needs more support if it is to come to Linux

Sorry but that game is not so desirable even for Windows users.

There is no need for Linux port of that , dev should add something to game for at least selling that on Windows.

Lovecraftian horror 'Conarium' powered by Unreal Engine is still coming to Linux, could be soon

Intel announce a new CPU with AMD graphics and HBM2 memory

Quoting: LinasSo AMD is going to compete with itself? Or drop APU's? I don't get it. :S:
No , it is much more selling extra gpu's for Amd and for Intel not bothering to product Iris Pro like gpu's and still existing at laptops with much more embedded graphics power.

This will only hurt Nvidia. No longer Mx150 , 940MX like gpu sellings. Because basically there won't be a need for them anymore.

So Linux in general , can't recognize performance needed workloads and because of that you have to adjust that on your own.

Man , isn't there a thing complete and user touch not needed feature about gaming on Linux at all?

Don't get me wrong. I love Linux but it is so far away from bringing out of the box good experience.

Quoting: ziabiceSo this game like, all the other Feral titles I own, looses 1/3 of the FPS in respect to Windows. I'm curious: does the game run under WINE? And if it runs, how it performs?
I think that could be achieved with an OpenGL port as well. I'm curious about MacOS performance. Michael is gonna do that. We will see if Metal port is greater or not.

This game won't run in Wine probably because Dx11 is still incomplete on Wine.

F1 2017 released for Linux as Feral Interactive’s first Vulkan-only title, here’s a port report

Quoting: AvelanHi Liam,

could you tell us which graphics-api was used in your windows benchmark? Was it also Vulkan? Or DirectX 11/12? Thank you for the review.
Windows version uses DirectX 11 , Linux is Vulkan.

Real Vulkan is not that. Doom and Wolfenstein New Colossus are using Vulkan properly , not that game.
