Looks like the experimental Linux version of Arma 3 will get the 64bit treatment

1-)It counts as a Windows sale
2-)They have feedback pages; they're not feedbacking through the game itself. Actually,i ve never heard a nonsense like that
3-)True,i misunderstood that. You need to press download and play.

That is not finished,it is experimental and when i buy it counts as a Windows buy.Damn...
It says NO steam branches, you can only use the default one. You don't have to change anything to download the linux version (quite the contrary: if you change the steam branch you won't download the linux version).
Also they do keep track of linux users (otherwise they wouldn't be able to check whether their 'experiment' is successful or not).

Version 1.68 isnt complete yet even for windows, so the 1.68 linux/mac port cannot be complete either.
If it is released some day,we will see Arma 4 is already out and this port is really bad and pushing away Linux people.

You're talking about accessing that by buying Windows version and doing some steps to access experimental port.
That is not a finished port, even they not finished the launcher.

The Talos Principle has another stable build with Vulkan improvements, much better than OpenGL

Quoting: natewardawgOkay, I did some benchmarks with DirectX 11 under Windows 10, Vulkan under Linux, and OpenGL under Linux. I ran the benchmark on a GTX 960 and an i7-6700K using the 60 second benchmark. If it says Ultra, then all settings were set to Ultra, for Medium, all settings were set to Medium, etc. If anyone wants to know a particular combination feel free to ask.Yeah,it is most likely that.Because on lowest settings cpu became the frame limiter,on highest gpu became limiter.Cpu utilization on Vulkan is better than Dx 11 normally because Vulkan is competitor to DX12;which it is also good on cpu utilization.
Here are the results:
D3D 11:
Ultra: 45.6
Medium: 172.6
Lowest: 355.2
Vulkan Linux:
Ultra: 41.6
Medium: 158.3
Lowest: 419.3
OpenGL Linux:
Ultra: 36.5
Medium: 101.0
Lowest: 263.2
So, we are getting much closer :) It's interesting when put on low settings that Vulkan completely smokes D3D11 by almost 70 fps. I'm wondering if this has to do with multi-threading vs the pseudo multi-threadedness of D3D11?
Wine 2.3 released with more Direct3D command stream and Shader Model 5 work

More important thing is,stability and having an api which doesn't limit the abilities of hardware.

Quoting: KimyrielleI rarely look at performance numbers and benchmarks, as I am happy when game runs with enough FPS for me to be able to play it. I would however be curious if there are OTHER components holding back Linux performance other than OpenGL. In other words, if a game uses Vulkan on both Windows and Linux, would it perform exactly the same on both Linux and Windows? Or would Linux still be worse? As far i as i know,Linux is better. At least at Dota2.Windows with Vulkan got a little a bit more fps than Linux Vulkan but gave more fps drops, while Linux version was more stable when last time i checked.I don't know current situation.

Actually when game runs great;who cares about DirectX?

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoObviously You gonna have good performance with that powerfull hardware... :|There is no need for that reachable hardware.Look at his OpenGL performance. It's way terrible for that kind of hardware. That's how OpenGL kills the hardware.
I would like to see a benchmark with a more realistic and reachable hardware: core i3 and a GTX 750ti, for example.
And I would like to see the difference against the OpenGL mode, the Vulkan mode and the DirectX mode of the windows version of the game with the same hardware, so We can have more extensive information :)
