Serious Sam 3: BFE with the 'Fusion' engine and Vulkan could arrive next month in Beta

Quoting: ShmerlIf you want to be formalistic, itch.io accept DRMed games. GOG don't. They are a minority on itch, but still. But this is not the main point here as before, since Croteam aren't releasing their games anywhere outside of Steam. Neither GOG, nor itch.io or Humble. As some suggested above, that's because their games are multiplayer (I never played them, so I had no clue). And rely on Steamworks. In such case they are locked into Steam. That's what makes quite a lot of games Steam exclusives.
Then i can suggest you to push Croteam to publish their Drm free versions through their website. If it works for you.

I know itch's policy,it's all up to publisher. Like Cdpr's doing. They're the publishers and everything up to them,Windows,Mac support etc.

Quoting: redshiftDesiring games to appear on GOG is obviously about DRM side of things since they have a strict policy about that. I don't care what store Talos Principle or Serious Sam will be released on, but I want it DRM-free.
They're doing very good job on Windows and Mac,great for them. I'm just pointing that how silly is to, try to push Croteam about putting their games to GOG and worshipping to a platform which didn't care Linux a bit.

If you want some drm-free,there is Itch.io. I'm sick of that people treating to GOG like they're the only defender and saviour of drm-free. Urgh...

But all i see is,worshipping to GOG. Dude, seriously why?

Quoting: g000hI notice quite often that Game Comment Threads seem to get subverted into threads arguing about Steam or GOG or itch.io or completely unrelated material.

Please could commenting about these non-Game things go into a separate Forum post or Article.
Hmm,but you also liked Gog praisers comments didn't you?I'm saying that because you literally liked them by pressing button which is visible when we hit Who? button.

You should be on no one's side to point that fact out i guess.

Not in the way of putting some common sense in the thick-skulled heads of legacy publishers. Who besides GOG works to revert their bad practices?
Actually,Gog and Cdpr are also thick-skulled.

Let me give an example to you.

I'm Turkish and you know that Witcher3 is also popular in our country just like whole world.

At the release of game,Witcher3 didn't have a Turkish localization.Which causes too many people to stay away from game at the first sight until a patch(user made) or a localization implementation(official) comes.

But it didn't seem to be happen nearly. So a handful of young students who also love this game, starts to translation. They've put up betas first, they did corrections from feedbacks. It was flawless. In the meantime, they were all in contact with Cdpr.Cdpr is saying them, they will look at it and they will consider it.They said without a notification that game will support Turkish in the future or not,or not a notification.

Meanwhile, people started to buy Witcher because there was a patch for language and it was beautiful. These whole start from beta to full release thing took 8 months nearly. They've also started to work on Blood&Wine and it was nearly over.

After 4 or 5 months, which they all hoped that guys efforts will be rewarded by becoming official implemantation of Turkish locale. They just did volunteerly, they didn't ask a single penny, they also didn't accept donation offers.

And then Cdpr suddenly announced the game will have support for Turkish, but the thing is they hired some other localization group for do this.

Actually, they could be say that we will have a translation but by another team.So this guys efforts are worth for nothing.By the way, there are people out there who still use their translation.

So the thing is,Cdpr looked at sales and they saw increasing charts.Suddenly, they decided to implement localization. They didn't inform this poor guys about other group and they just keep them on stand-by.So,their precious time is gone for nothing.

So my friend, that's how Gog sees the things. All of a sale, nothing more. And that's why they support Mac on their titles, because they think Mac market is worth to be in it.

If you don't believe me,you can ask your friends at Gog or Cdpr.

Gog or Cdpr are not the fairiest being of the market. If you look for them, you can look for Feral Interactive.

Quoting: ShmerlSteamworks too much. That happens for multiplayer games indeed, which rely on Steamworks servers infrastructure. But for single player games this doesn't apply.
ALL Serious Sam are multiplayer. Even The Talos Principle has some multiplayer functionality (you can read messages on the walls created by your friends). So, if you want a singleplayer game from Croteam on GOG, they can publish... Football Glory.

Quoting: LeopardGOG zealots are on their run again.

(...)That's the GOG view people.
A hypothesis: Shmerl is a Pole and GoG is Polish, wrong vision of patriotism is the culprit for all these posts.

Meanwhile I am a Pole too, and I don't know why a Croatian company should lose money to help a Polish digital distribution platform.
Actually,i don't care about nationality.

I just can't get this passion about a platform which obviously didn't care Linux a bit.

So you want drm free?Go for Itch.io,why especially GOG?

Quoting: ShmerlSince Croteam games aren't found on itch.io either, you are for excluding non Steam users in general. As I said, I find it inappropriate and quite surprised such attitudes are found among Linux users.
If they can and they want to come Itch.io,i will be happy about it.

As i see,you have a specific fetish with Gog.Also this Che Guevera guy too.Which i'm so curious, what cause that?

You are apparently against asking developers to release on GOG. I find it wrong and inappropriate.
No,i'm not.I'm against to tell and some way force the developers (who also tell that two platform thing is a little bit hard, there are links above) bring their games to a platform like Gog which is Linux not welcomed. This is like, trying to buy an item from a salesman who shouts you to 'Fuck off,get off my sight!' and you're okay with it.

I'm not okay with it.Which is why i only buy from Steam and Itch.io.

What's your problem with asking developers to stop ignoring Linux users who don't use Steam? If you don't have this issue because you aren't excluded, why are you upset that others bring it up? Reminds me how some Windows users are upset that Linux users ask developers to release games for Linux. Exclusivity is bad, you should know better.
What?I'm against Gog, not Steam and Itch.io.

I prefer Itch.io to Gog,which they care about Linux.

Ohh,i almost forgot.Gog has it's client for Windows and Mac(they're beta but available)but not for Linux.

They care about a fly much more than they care about Linux. So that's my reason.

Long live Steam and Itch.io!!!

GOG zealots are on their run again.

Unless they stop giving zero fucks to Linux community(just like now),let it stay absent.

Actually,i don't give a fuck about them right now.Let them be happy with their Windows and Mac games. They have their own titles with support of Mac+Windows but no Linux.

Oh right, they also publish some Dosbox games to Linux which is only place that they think they can sell these. That's the GOG view people.

Quoting: HollowSoldier"This newer game engine will be using Vulkan and it sounds like a big win for Linux"

Vulkan too, or Vulkan only? The game is ancient, people bought it according to ancient system requirements and may be playing it on ancient PCs. Getting a surprise update after the beta, that locks them out wouldn't make them happy.
I think Vulkan too.

Because they said they will remove Dx9 support, which is clear game will support other Dx versions and OpenGL too.
