F1 2016 won't be coming to Linux, as sales of F1 2015 weren't strong enough

Today Feral streamed F1 2016 for Mac:

It feels a little bit sad but I don't see much difference between 2015 and 2016. Mac users haven't got 2015, so they are maybe a lot Mac user who will buy.

To be honest, I do not know if I would have bought it now. I just paid 50 Euros for DiRT Rally. F1 is reissued every year. There will be a version for Linux again next year or later.

I do not understand why 2015 has received such crushing criticism. The races are really fun. I see hardly any difference between 2015 and the actual version.

Mad Max meets Vulkan in a new fully public beta for Linux, benchmarks and OpenGL vs Vulkan comparisons

Happy to have payed full price for this game. :)

This are amazing news, Liam. I just started the game. Can not wait to play it again. Unfortunately, just no time. But that will be streamed next. :)

The performance of DiRT Rally was already impressive. Feral is getting better and better.

I think it absolutely great that Feral is also concerned about already published games. They already fixed problems with Shadow of Mordor. But this is now again a completely different category. Vulkan support for Mad Max. Who would have thought of that? :)

What can I say, it is a pleasure to play with Feral. :)

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - A Criminal Past DLC now supports Linux & SteamOS

That's very cool. But I like to finish the main game first. :)

A lot of work for Feral, as some games now get regular contend updates. I played Hitman for 47h now. :)

Quoting: KeyrockGotta love SCS, they keep tinkering with their games for years after release.
Yet Steam Controller support for Euro Truck Simulator 2 is still DOA in Linux.
Yes, waiting for this too. Bur didn't test it again.

This is how Android has grown. The companies want to sell their hardware and the customers want to have the choice.

I think it is more interesting for the market in the long term, because Microsoft is out then. In the moment the manufacturers are dependent on Valve and Microsoft. They also have to pay license fees to Microsoft. But I do not know, maybe they do not care.

But I think that SteamOS will push the others in the long run down. Just as Android has done it with iOS.

What is the actual version of the steam controller? My version is 1001.

My thoughts: Valve takes good money for the controller and everything else. I do not think they risk the farm. Thus steam machines can grow slowly or not. If Steam Machines would spread, it would be great for us, of course. Something must come as well.

They should improve the quality of the controller in my opinion. Hardware and Software. Also they need a collection of really well-supported games. Everything has to grow. But everything is on a good path. I think that on the basis of Steam Machines in a few years a Vive VR box for under 1000 dollars is possible. The Vive must also be significantly cheaper for this. With the many games that will be available before then, Steam Machines will be a strong offer.

Feral Interactive will livestream DiRT Rally on March 1st

Quoting: TobiSGDIf it is good enough for streaming it is good enough for playing. They should just release it instead of baiting people that are waiting eagerly for the port.
Release dates are typically carved in stone and can not be moved easily. What do you think how many people are involved in this? This is not just Feral.

I enjoy Feral's streams and just like to watch them. It's cool to have a stream just one day before the release. This has become a nice tradition between Feral an the community.

Of course they could do without it, but who would benefit? The game would not appear a second earlier without the stream.

So cool to have this on Linux. I hope the Steam Controller will be supported.

Steam now has over 3,000 Linux games available
11 Feb 2017 at 11:10 pm UTC Likes: 4

Quoting: KimyrielleUnfortunately, that's true. Of the 3,000 games, roughly 2,500 suck very extremely hard. Indie development has brought us gems like Prison Architect and Stardew Valley. But also a lot of people who can barely code Hello World suddenly thought they could be the next game development star and published their drivel on Steam because nobody stopped them. That's actually a huge problem these days, because it's getting harder and harder to find the few good games in the mountain of drivel.
But it's the same for Windows on a much more larger scale. So many scrap games that will never appear for Linux. ;)

Many of the indie games are adorable. For example Typoman which was released on Friday. Some games are also a matter of taste. For example Sky Break. This gets rather negative reviews. But I just like the graphics and the gameplay as it reminds me of Phantasy Star Online.

Not every game is a hit. But even weaker games have their moments. I know only a few games that are really garbage. Most are worth their money.
