7 Days To Die, A Sandbox Zombie Survival Game Finally Arrives On Linux

Kind of a bittersweet feeling here as well considering how they treated Liam but I guess I'm glad the Linux port finally arrived (also because I was a backer!)

Quoting: GuestThey have a very long and unreadable EULA… -> no thanks.I wouldn't consider a long EULA a good reason to avoid a game, Paradox, probably the most Linux friendly publisher, have an even longer EULA and Steam EULA is as long as the two put together...

consider paying that instead of waiting for the 66% account.Or wait for the 66% discount and buy 3 games ;)
Quoting: HamishThe strength of Linux comes from its diversityCan't agree more with this. And its diversity comes from its freedom, remove the freedom and you'll have a single Linux distribution, but at that point you can just use the "single Windows distribution".

Aspyr is indeed doing a great job! However I hope Beyond Earth is not as bad as user reviews seem to show or their sales could be not that good.

Considering how bad reviews are on steam I don't think we are missing much.
I have a steam gift copy of the original Frozen Synapse if anyone who doesn't own it yet is interested.

I wonder if probing the market with crowdfunding would make sense in these cases. Or, much less work, they could have posted a survey on GoL to check the interest exclusively from Linux gamers (considering that Linux market sales varies about between 1-5% knowing the size of the Linux market can be a way to estimate the windows market as well). They could have realized that there was no enough interest in such a game (it's not necessarily a matter of visibility) and they could have adapted it to a more appealing product.

I definitely agree, visibility for the Linux version of an already released game is really bad, however I find that the discovery queue system helps a lot. I went through all suggestions, it didn't take long and it did help to find old games new on Linux that passed under my radar (not good for my wishlist that became huge!). Then of course there is GoL that helps highlighting good Linux games :)

Considering Linux support for the first was so poor I don't see why I should get the second and get burned again.

- CPU
- RAM
- Graphic card (Intel/AMD/Nvidia) and drivers (Proprietary/Open source)
- Number of games owned on Linux and Windows (not necessarily on Steam, free games count if installed and played at least a few times)
- Number of Linux games on Steam and number of Linux games that can be installed/played without Steam (don't want to use DRM-free since Steam is considered DRM by some and not DRM by others)
- Budget available to buy games per year
- Services you buy games from (Humble bundle / Steam / ...)
- How much do you play? (a lot (at least once everyday) / sometimes (at least once every week), every now and then (at least once every month))
- Did you ever buy a game just to support Linux but haven't played it? If yes why not (not interested / current Linux box not powerful enough / ...)
- Are you on Steam? If yes do you collect cards on Steam? What is your Steam level?
- Do you run steam under wine?
- Do you dual boot Linux/Win? If yes, what is the percentage of time played on Linux compared to Windows? What are the reason for dual booting? (game not ported / game ported but better performance on windows / ...)
- Do you plan to buy a Steam Box when available? (Yes / No, I'll just build one / No, I play on a normal distro, not interested in SteamOS)
