I'm really happy with the VR fixes for ACC. That game was a major factor in considering an Index.
Now lets hope that Nvidia or AMD do their homework for the new generations since I need a bit more GPU power :).

Quoting: YoRHa-2BIs VK_KHR_ray_tracing still Nvidia specific? Or do you mean by “proper” that it should mature first and no longer be declared provisional?Quoting: TheRiddickCurious, does RTX features work in these games like Metro? or is that beyond vkd3d?Vulkan doesn't even have a proper raytracing extension yet, so, no. We're not going to support the Nvidia one.

Just purchased x-plane 11. To my very surprise the Linux/Vulkan version starts perfectly in VR!

I guess for the purist people using Unreal Engine isn’t even native on Windows anymore since there is a game engine between game code and the graphics API :)

Quoting: dubigrasuWell, trying to define what is native or wrapper is like opening a can of worms, that sooner or later ends in a bloodbath of arguments. I've seen epic battles on reddit about this.Yeah exactly. That discussion is just pointless, in every software there are always layers that translate something to something until you reach the hardware. IMHO software runs native as long as it isn’t running inside a VM.
I wouldn't dare to try a definition, that's why I said "native".

Lets see how the actual launch and support looks like...
* I don't know if it is a hack or not, but it really does serves its purpose.

Quoting: libgradevYeah same here. I'm actually quite happy with my GTX 1080, but due to VR I want to go for something more powerful soon. I don't mind that the Nvidia driver is closed source, I have to use dkms also for an out of tree gaming wheel driver. That said not having async reprojection* or being able to switch to wayland might be the reason to go for one of those cards.Quoting: Liam DaweI do have to admit personally, even as a typical NVIDIA fan that AMD are looking mighty tempting.Join us
6900 XT or the 6800 XT - hmmm....

Fedora 33 released with lots of improvements to the Linux desktop

I use docker quite frequently, Fedora32 sets the needed kernel arguments for still having support for older cgroups when installing docker. I guess this is still the same with Fedora33?

Quoting: ArehandoroI (usually) love fedora, and I love the changes introduced in 33. But the post, and comments so far, seem to miss the most important and controversial changes this iteration includes (for me); systemd-resolved as a default dns daemon.Do you know the current status of docker and cgroups2?
For other complaints; I'm still waiting on docker fixing cgroup2 or having podman-compose on a production level capability.

More offers to play games on Linux is certainly good.
