Little bit sad, that almost every one is it calling "steamos" but nah.... very good news.Well yeah, they are targeting Steamos only. Valve could have called their distro SteamLinux or even better, SteamGnuLinux, but it wouldn't have sounded as good. As long as they keep mentionning that it actually is Linux in official places, I'm ok with that.

Because Liam asked :
What are you most looking forward to in future from Steam on Linux? Or if you shy away from it, why?It might also just be the will to speak about a recurrent topic that one's strongly opiniated about. ;)

I've been awaiting the arrival of Steam on Linux eagerly and especially the Steam machines, for I knew/know it would/will give incredible traction to the OS, even though I didn't plan to use Steam myself.
Recently I've grown some respect for Valve for a number of reasons though. I hope they will continue in the way of openness. But until they get away with the DRM I'm still reluctant to buy anything on their platform, I don't want to lock my library on any platform, I want to be free to use a different app or OS-integrated way to manage my games. Sadly I know that as long as they don't have a real competitor, most games will only release on Steam and I might be forced to buy from them.

Bloom: Memories A New Kind Of Action Adventure RPG On Kickstarter

I backed them, I like the atmosphere.

it's trending way over it's goal at the moment so it should be an easy win guys.If you're speaking about kicktraq's trending estimation, that's totally off until maybe the last couple days. It's not an easy win at all for Bloom, they'll probably reach it with a hard push from backers at the end.

I didn't know this either, but the Steam Controller has a gyroscope in it to enable motion controls, I hope games don't come out that require some sort of shaking of the controller, motion controls annoy the hell out of me.Shaking QTEs, yeeeee...ewww.
Shadowrun Returns RPG Officially Available On Linux

Personnally, when dialogs have voice, I always find myself reading the subtitles because it's much faster. Though I like to have a couple lines voiced for the atmosphere.

Quoting: Quote from hero900i played it and i really enjoyed it. until now i didn’t get any problem of any kind. i would like this game more if the dialogues were vocal (audio) so i don’t have to readVoicing all dialogs reduces the writers' freedom. The vast majority of kickstarter backers specifically ask for RPGs to prioritize the richness and quantity of dialogs over voice acting them.

Avaliable? But for many people game don't work. Black screen and only "exit" button worksYou should mention your issue on their forums. I've done it myself and was quickly contacted by their Linux dev to provide him more information.

Quoting: Quote from NervHere is an interesting writeup of a test session with the Steam controller (by Tommy Refenes, the linux hating programmer of Super Meat Boy):Interesting but I'd be more interested in a perfectionist's test on typical keyboard+mouse games.

Valve Announces New Controller For SteamOS, Steam Controller

I'm surprised they didn't come up with something really innovative. Actually, aside from the pads instead of sticks it looks... very standard.
I'm still interested in this controller, I think they will eventually come up with something a little bit better than any other existing pad. I think I will use this in combination with the Rift. (Because sadly I guess that using a keyboard without seeing it at all can be quite difficult at times).

it could offer better precision than a mouse, but I do still somehow doubt that.It cannot. Simply because a fat thumb moving on a 2-3cm surface is less precise than five fingers controlling a laser on a 5 to 10cm surface.

games like first-person shooters that are designed around precise aiming within a large visual field now benefit from the trackpads’ high resolution and absolute position controlWhat ??? Like a pen tablet ? It sounds incredibly unusable.
