AMD detail future plans for socket AM4 and Zen 3 compatibility, no Zen 3 for older chipsets

Ouch, that's a bummer. I have a B450 and was planning to swap my r5 2400g for a zen 3 r7 in order to have a long lasting computer. I might have to skip this generation and get zen 4 or zen 5 instead.

Streets of Rage 4 to be playable on Linux at release with Steam Play Proton

They're long, but manageable. It's about 20-30 seconds depending on the level (using a crucial m2 ssd, not nvme). Gives me time to chat a bit while it's loading.

Works marvellously well for me too through proton. It also works great through Remote Play Together. Been playing with my brother and he says he feels very little lag and that the visual quality is pretty good (streaming at 720p).

AMD's Q1 2020 financial report out - RDNA 2 and Zen 3 on track for this year

I bought a B450 with a 2400G a while ago. The Vega 11 GPU was impressive, I could even play older games like Borderlands 2 and the Pre-Sequel at 3440x1440 smoothly. The only drawback was that stability with the iGPU seemed to be pure luck. Some updates it was fine, then a week after a new update would come out and it crashed all the time, then next update it was fine again, etc etc etc. I got tired of it and picked up a 1660 Ti for really cheap during the last black Friday. But it seems like stability with their latest GPUs are way better, so if RNDA2 really has that 50% power efficiency improvement, I'll probably ditch the 1660 Ti. But I have to say, like all NVidia GPUs I used in the past, the 1660 Ti so far has been rock solid and works incredibly well.

Free first-person shooter 'Tomatenquark' releasing soon based on Cube 2: Sauerbraten

Quoting: NanobangJust to be clear, is this a (multi-mode) FPS arena shooter? Cube 2, Sauerbraten, Warsow, etc. were always intriguing looking options on the pre-Steam Linux gaming landscape back in the day, but they lacked any real single-player appeal.

Yeah its multiplayer only. You can play with bots but they aren't very good. The main "single player" appeal of the game is level editing. The editor is a joy to use, its so easy and quick. I have made so many levels for that game. I wish I still had enough free time to make more today.

Award winning mobile game 'The Battle of Polytopia' is getting an updated release for PC

Will they fix the knights for this release? This game was great, but the knights being able to run through an infinite number of low health units in a single turn was game breaking (you got a free move every time you killed a unit). The game was all about launching a successful knight through the enemy's back row. All other strategies were worthless.

Quoting: TcheyI’m still having a blast with Vintage Story, best "minecraft-like" in my opinion.
Playing it a lot lately, with Immersion mod.

Same here, after having played Vintage Story, I can't see myself ever going back to Minecraft or its clones.

With the little ones, a lot of Horizon Chase Turbo, Shovel Knight and Hammerwatch. When they get better, it will be time to hop into Legend of Dungeon.

Myself, some Vintage Story, been trying out the free Tomb Raider 2013 but it isn't very good. I recently completed The Station, which was way too short but incredibly good. I also finished Near Death, which is another very short but fantastic game. Next on the list is The Witcher II (not 3), it was incredibly cheap recently and it's about time I check what all the hype is about.

On my to do list I also have to complete Iconoclast which is sweet so far, A.N.N.E., Into the Breach, Lingotopia, Super Tony Land, Stealth Bastard Deluxe and Wizard of Legend.

Quoting: JJNovaI have been bouncing back and forth between Urban Terror and Deponia. I bought all of the Deponia games years ago for a few bucks each, and just started going through my backlog.

Urban Terror on the other hand, is always installed and ready to go at a moments notice. I'm quite excited for the next release and hope it happens in 2020.

Wow Urban Terror, I played so much of this game in the past. I lost interest when they did the major rework, took forever. Is it back to being as good as it was before?

I've been playing almost exclusively Vintage Story since you got me addicted to it. The only other game I've played recently is Horizon Chase Turbo with the family and when friends show up.

Still waiting for Nvidia to fix the no-hair rendering bug in Deus Ex Mankind Divided to pick it back up and complete it.
