Kingdom Eighties is at least the 4th game in the series and it's a bit of a standalone spin-off, with a rather different setting compared with previous entries. While the previous games were all set hundreds of years ago, this brings things up a bit more recent since it's set in the 80s.
"You play as The Leader, a young camp counselor who will have to defend their town and family from the relentless attack of the mysterious Greed. What are these monsters, and why are they trying to steal their family legacy, the Crown of Creation?"

Main Features:
- Building upon the well-known mechanics from the previous Kingdom games, Kingdom Eighties will deep dive into the lore and worldbuilding of the series. And if you're new to it, the story elements will fluently guide you through the gameplay mechanics.
- You will meet three supporting characters along the way: The Champ, The Tinkerer, and The Wiz. Each one has different abilities that you can combine to solve puzzles and find the solution to each level.
- The summer camp is just the beginning! You will travel through different locations never seen before in the Kingdom series. Find some fresh wheels at the skateboard park, visit the shops on Main Street, and free the New Lands Mall from the Greed.
- Kingdom's iconic, handcrafted art style is back, now with a neon touch coming directly from the eighties aesthetics. Chill and vibe with the synthwave OST from Andreas Hald, and travel back to the wonder days of bike riding and summer camps, when everything seemed possible.

And there is a demo, too! Gonna try it on the Steamdeck before getting it, but the previous games and the art style is really making me want to insta buy it

Based on demo it's is bit confusing for the veterans, but there are somewhat familiar analogues of the old buildings, though they don't work exactly the same than before. I'm not sure if the changes are big enough for me to instantly buy this, but still quite refreshing change to the old gameplay.

I don't trust these devs anymore, since their latest game didn't have Linux/macOS versions on GOG but Steam did.
And its seems this new game won't be on GOG at all... so even worse.

That is not a developers fault, GOG always had an issue, they have never developed nor released a client for Linux in which you could easily download and install games from. Steam on the other hand actively supports Linux client even though they make less than 1% in sales from it!

Might have been time limited to the Next Fest. Seems to be still available to play if you installed it, but those that missed the window, the download link is gone from the Steam store page.
