Wilderness survival sandbox Vintage Story has a massive upgrade out now

Another update, and here I am again to praise this game. Been playing this game for over two years now, and I'm still not bored with it, a hard feat in these days and age of games overabundance. Each update makes the game more and more interesting. The dev team is absolutely fantastic.

I'll repeat this again, this game is NOT Minecraft. Yes, it's blocky, and its got crafting, but that's about it. This game is very realistic and a lot more challenging. Each update brings *consistent* improvements, not random unrelated things like Minecraft. Also, they have a normal combat system, not the weird unusable timer based weird thing Minecraft calls a battle system. Add to this the lovecraftian horror touch and you are in for a great time.

Back 4 Blood gets a small update for the Steam Deck

The game is not Left 4 Dead for sure, the level design is nowhere near close to the masterpiece that is Left 4 Dead, but it doesn't mean its a bad game. It's different, but I have the feeling that in 2-3 years after a few updates and some balancing its going to be an awesome game. But its not a casual game like Left 4 Dead, you need to play it a lot just to build a good deck. It's really a game targeted at more hardcore gamers. I'll keep playing Left 4 Dead with more casual friends, but for our small inner circle of experienced gamers, Back 4 Blood is nice and we are having fun.

To put it simply, this should be an early access game at this point, its not ready. A very promising early access game though.

Horizon Chase Turbo is by FAR the best game of the lot. A true gem of a game.

Quoting: PhiladelphusI played the demo when it came out for Steam Next Fest last year, and just…wasn't sold on it. I found the graphics actually made things less comprehensible at a glance compared to FTL, unfortunately. (Like, the icons for each room being tiny and in the corner, rather than clearly spread out face-on on a floor tile of the room.) Now that it's out I should perhaps at least find video of someone playing it and see if that's been improved.

It wasn't improved at all. With the low contrast graphics and the no-feedback from crew and ship I find this very hard to play. In FTL if you hear heartbeats or a blaring alarm you know something requires your attention. When a room turns red, you see it even if you are not paying attention. In this game, if you are fixated on combat and the enemy shields, you will most likely not notice that a room is slowly turning from dark grey to the same dark grey with a slight shade of pink.

I bought it, played it some, and asked for a refund. This game is not ready at all and needs a lot of love. There is zero feedback from the ship or the crew. No blaring alarm when your ship is on fire or has a leak, or when your hull integrity gets low. The crew will happily suffocate in silence, if your captain happens to die in silence, its game over. Etc... etc... etc. I can see it has potential, but in its current state it is not even close to FTL. Hopefully it will improve quickly, but I will wait a year or two before I revisit it.

Kaiju Wars seems like Into the Breach but it's much more and it's out now

Quoting: xaviThe two Subset games have been cloned and published in same day!

I was just about to post that too hehe. At the very least it shows how good their games are if people clone them outright.

Quoting: DrakkerThe game already works super well with proton. The only problem was the anti-cheat for multiplayer. Did they fix that?
Yes.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!

It's also very nice to see that they care for Linux users, it might not be a native build, but they still acknowledge us and put in extra work for us. It's a win in my book.
