Are there any cards linked to it Liam ?
This seems to be a legit, if very young and exceptionally small, team trying to bootstrap their way to indie success so far as I can tell. That "asset flip" feeling though is exactly the main downside to purchased premade assets in the hands of someone who hasn't the skill/talent to adjust them well nor the funds to hire someone with that skill/talent... the modern flavor of MSPaint made programmer art from back in the day. Right now it just runs afoul of the fact there are also a bunch of unscrupulous types who aren't making any real attempt at actual work and just trying to scam a quick buck from the fact they can sell what amounts to little more than an asset pack with some minor engine boilerplate for a profit.
Hmm. Feel a little bad now if these were just kids trying to put something out there.
You could do great things with assets provided your game has cohesion and the assets are polished and you add enough material from yourself.
I guess they should have put this on itch.io first and learned from it then make a proper project on steam.
I did goof around in AGS and others and made some truly terrible stuff but I never put it out there.

Was this the game that gave you the option to opt-out of permadeath ?
If so then i am on-board.

For me those are all negatives, currency and items give a much needed depth and fun to the genre.
Quoting: razing32Many varied maps with objectives.
That is what the mods are there for in Dota, but before they were there, I agree, different maps and objectives were one cool feature HotS had over Dota.
To me the gold and item shop just annoy me.
I hate that type of complexity and especially the last hit mechanic(which i still believe is a carryover from Warcraft days)
To each their own I suppose.

Quoting: bgh251f2I still can't will myself to play any MOBA. There's simple no easy way to start, it is too complicated for a beginner and almost every tutorial about it makes the game seem a boring mess.
I agree. I used to play the various MOBA mods for Warcraft 3 back in the day and I enjoyed it. Then I see DOTA and LOL and it feels more like a chemistry class in another language. The tech trees have sprawled to insane levels for the beginners and the tutorials are all but worthless. Right away you're thrust into playing with other humans who seems like they are MLG level pros right out of the gate. There needs to be some kinda scaling system that reduces the tech trees and you can put in 20-50 hours then you open up the next level and so on until you feel you grasp the full scale/scope of things to venture into real matches. I think one of the big problems is this idea relies on a decent AI and most games these days don't want to write AI or structure long campaigns or tutorials to use the AI with when the games focus is multiplayer.
While I was on Windows i played quite a bit of HOTS
Different mechanics but MUCH easier and more fun
No gold , no item shop. Many varied maps with objectives.
Only problem is that it's windows only and you would need to use wine for the game and the battle.net client.

Single-player first-person dungeon crawler 'Delver' has released, the SteamOS icon has also returned

In these dungeons once you're dead you stay dead. Permadeath means that when you die, you begin each run into the dungeon anew.
Oh well , not for me.
Still great news they released it on Linux.

Martian city builder 'Surviving Mars' release date announced with a new trailer

Quoting: DuncBy sheer coincidence, I've just watched Scott Manley's video [External Link] on this. Oh, that looks good.

My only reservation would be that Tropico 5 (also Haemimont) left me with the impression that adding a story to a city builder maybe isn't such a great idea as it sounds. Once I'd completed it, I never really felt the urge to play it again. That said, although there's a tech tree and obviously some storyline involving those black cube things, it doesn't seem to be as heavily plot-driven as T5, so maybe they've learned from it.

Looking forward to it, but I'll wait for reviews.
Hmm , i did not play Tropico 5 .
Where there no extra missions , free paly or an editor ?

My favourite city building game was Pharaoh+Cleopatra.
You had a campaign increasing in difficulty and explaining game concepts.
About 2 dozen missions ranging from easy to very hard as well as some Open Play maps where you could just go nuts.
On top of that they had a built in editor.

Quoting: stretch611One of the first things that I noticed in the video is that they created a closed loop and added a train... But, the distance between signals on the curves was significantly smaller than the train they added.

While this is only a quick demo and it made no difference in this specific case, I fear that someone that fails to grasp the concept of having signals fit a train length inside them, is not going be creating any rail simulation that will have the kind of depth of mechanics that I crave.

I hope that they surprise me, but I doubt it will happen.
