Quoting: SolitaryCan you be more specific? I don't remember if I had to do anything, but maybe I did... I have played Arkham Asylum long time ago, and last time I played it was on Steam Deck and that was also year ago.
Have you read and checked solutions here? https://www.protondb.com/app/35140 [External Link]

There seems to be one advice repeating even on Deck protontricks d3dx9 d3dcompiler_43
shouldnt it be protontricks 35140 d3dx9 d3dcompiler_43

without the game id, it installs it into what prefix? :D
I just copied it from the protondb, you are probably right. The command will tell you how to use it.

Quoting: M@GOidI wished the fixed Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY. To this day I still cannot play it.
What's wrong? I replayed entire Batman Arkham series on Steam Deck, I don't remember any of them not working at all.
After the starter screen (with the settings) it crashes, shows a window with some error and closes. The next game, Arkham City works fine, but I had never managed to get Asylum to run, no matter which version of Proton I'm using. This have been like this since the appearance of Proton.

Valve limits Steam store pages to 2 trailers before screenshots

Quoting: AllocWish they also added a similar rule to images showing actual gameplay vs renders. Can't remember what it was last time but I just had that case a few days ago where there was like a dozen or so images first after the numerous trailers that did not show *actual gameplay* either.
If I am not mistaken that is actually a rule. Screenshots should show actual gameplay.

Oh, I remember playing the alpha demo 2 years ago. Shame it doesn't have a demo right now... the alpha was way too basic and from the video it doesn't look like *that* much has changed.

Quoting: jordicomaThe graphics cards are to expensive nowadays.
The powerful ones might be, but there is plenty of cheaper options (e.g. integrated GPUs) that are good enough to play newer games. I mean Steam Deck is better than your old gtx660.

What is a BFU?
Well, it is deregatory acronym for users. True meaning is Bloody Fucking User, but I was using it in a more simple sense as in... just regular Joe (Windows) user.

ProtonDB seems to mention that performance gets significantly better after enabling Resizable BAR.

Quoting: BeamboomI think it's SO strange that the steam deck performance can differ this much from the desktop Linux.

But I guess this does demonstrate why some are hesitant with porting their game to Linux. Can't say I blame them.
Blaming entire platform for shortcoming of a game, or a GPU driver. This is common when BFUs compare Linux vs Windows for gaming, I would expect better from actual Linux users though.
