If you want more gore in the GZDoom and Zandronum engines try the 'Bolognese Gore Mod'

Quoting: FaalagornI wonder how it works with things like The Adventures of Square :P
It didn't do much initially, but then I set Bolognese to it's "Always Gib" option and cranked the blood up and... uh, wow.

I feel kinda bad having all these interesting free games at my disposal that are absolutely deserving of my attention, but then ignoring them in favor of playing more Minesweeper.
No idea what the deal is with my recent Minesweeper addiction, it just makes me so angry that I can't help but constantly replay it.

Quoting: aukondkThe upscaling works surprisingly well on these graphics. Wouldn't mind seeing it on a Wolf3D port (not sure which is the best these days)
ECWolf [External Link] seems to be the go-to source Wolfenstein 3D port these days. It doesn't have OpenGL rendering though. It's all software rendering, which means it's slow at large resolutions like 1440p or 4K.
There's also a real good Wolf3d GZDoom Total Conversion. It's my preferred way of playing the game since it has the option to force Doom style movement, which prevents the game from causing me motion sickness.

Never much liked digital versions of Monopoly, half the fun of that game is using made up rules that make the game last nearly half a day and pisses off the entire family as a result.

I imagine this port will likely become the preferred one once the features exceed devilutionx.

What have you been playing recently and what do you think about it?

I've been playing Kingdom Come Deliverance through wine + dxvk. It runs fairly well, and I'm enjoying it far more than I expected, I regret not buying it a year earlier as I've been missing out on what's essentially a hardcore elder scrolls experience. Everything is just so fleshed out, I've been spending most of my time making potions and strangling random homeless people until they fall unconscious.

Steam hits a new all-time high for users online, Linux share rises

I just got the hardware survey yesterday, and I finally submitted my hardware info. I tend to avoid them as my privacy obsessed mind tend to read the word "survey" and immediately freak out.

Linux Mint and the Cinnamon desktop progressing well, all-time high donations

Beginner-friendly also means it's lazy-friendly. I'm certainly an experienced enough Linux user to setup and use even the most mystifying distros, but I'm lazy, and Mint works on most systems I've thrown at it without any issues and has a great out-of-the-box experience.

Direct 3D to Vulkan translation layer DXVK version 1.5.2 is up, lots of fixes for games

Lucky me, I was setting up a new wine prefix yesterday and installed this newest release of dxvk without even notcing.

I just noticed The Sims 1 no longer has the Bronze rating on AppDB and has apparently been functioning since at least 4.6.
I remember that game for a long time being the sole reason I still had a Windows partition. It's weird how vestigial that partition is getting...
Yeah I think I'll finally stop dual booting once I get a hardware upgrade, all the software I need for work already run fine under wine, and it seems I just need a little extra overhead for those modern titles I own.
