The Witcher 3 didn't come to Linux likely as a result of the user-backlash from The Witcher 2

Quoting: Whitewolfe80Well witcher 3 was never officially cancelled CD and Valve just stopped talking about it
Valve never talked about it. They just posted two ads, clearly sanctioned by CDPR. And while it was never officially cancelled, it was de-facto cancelled.
So you don't think advertising the game as coming and hyping it is talking about a game interesting

Quoting: AresoWell, Witcher 3 was promised AND cancelled long after that VP-storm. So they promised, don't mind to haters, and cancelled, don't mind to haters. In the end, it all comes down to the price. SteamOS and Steam machines are failed (though it was nice try), even Valve don't support VR stuff on their's own platform. But how many VR owners in Steam? 100k? (and I very optimistic there). VR of course much coster, than Alienware Steam machine (alpha counterpart). Not any gamer could use VR because of their health (I, for an example, cannot and not only due to bad vision). Almost any glasses owner couldn't, except the ones, who uses lenses.
...
Now I have about 50% of my library in Steam compatible with Linux. Sadly, most of them are indie (and some of them broken, I don't mind much).

Quoting: Avehicle7887Despite this game's 2 years old now, I bet many Linux users would buy it if it was ported.
No. That's the problem - the Linux users who want to play Witcher 3 have already bought it, and would want the Linux port "for free".
But that brings up another question, why should the end user be punished for paying for a game on a different platform if CD projeckt had kept their word. No linux user would of had to buy it on another platform
Why should the porting house be "punished" by not getting paid for their work?
Well perhaps they should take that up with steam ie its not the end users responsibility who gets what. I do indeed have every sympathy for feral or whoever ports a game however I work damn hard for my money and if i own a game already am not going to buy it again just so i can go rah rah linux.

Quoting: m2mg2Just to clarify, has Feral actually said Bioshock remastered isn't coming to Linux?

I still haven't seen a statement to that effect. Just the generic, we have nothing to report on Linux at this time.

Football Manager 2018 release date announced with Linux support once again
15 Aug 2017 at 10:24 pm UTC

Quoting: Perkeleen_VittupääThis must be THE football game being a manager, but who to possibly bring Sensible Soccer Remastered (!) to existence... :woot:
Well it is actually Codemasters the British publisher that owns the rights to that one and if you could convince enough people to pester them about it they are fairly pro linux so you never know.

(I was like no way!!! but then I understood the reasons like all other foreign companies that have a company in my country)
