Exactly Io is just the studio they can technically get any studio to make it
Yes, that's possible. But most of the time the games made by a new studio are worse then the original one. If you really want to keep a franchise alive you're better of fixing your current developer studios. I could imagine they just drop it.
Maybe but what else do they have, i know FF is crazy popular i have never seen the appeal but i get its popular.

Total War: SHOGUN 2 and Fall of the Samurai are heading to Linux from Feral Interactive

Quoting: gurvAnother Total War, I'll pass :S:
Would have preferred Rise of the Tomb Raider but I'm happy as long as Feral gets enough money.
Would also really like a good arcade racer (Need for Speed Rivals or Hot Pursuit (2010) for example) but I guess that's not possible since most of those games are from Linux unfriendly publishers.
MGS V would be nice too.
If you are after an Arcade Racer try Flatout 2 from gog it has a linux native version

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoIf Feral port Warhammer 40000 Space Marine they will earn some my respect...
And if they port Bioshock 1 and 2 to Linux (they ported them to mac), I will respect them more...
And if the ports are DRMFREE, I will respect them 100%.
Space marine is unlikely its too old now maybe if a sequel was about to come out we would get it plus tricky to get as licence is divided between Relic and Sega and Warhammer.

They have a history of this they bought Eidos Interactive Ltd and then turned round and sold off the Rocksteady brand to WB. Io Interactive is one of the last old Eidos studios. Square own the IP rights to Hitman and long as it is Square that are supporting Linux and not Io then it should not effect future ports.

Quoting: Whitewolfe80we can argue the technical terms but in laymen terms it emulates it
Thats exactly the problem, people think its an emulator because of all the confusion from people such as yourself, who say "it emulates" when in fact it doesn't.

In laymans terms, emulation and virtual enviroments are 2 completely different things.
Shall we call Windows, PC?
I am not confused nor do i care like i said i know exactly how it works and what is function is. However getting pissy and headstrong about whether or not its referred to as an emulator really really is not important. What matters is it works to some extent depending on the program and it's free. Again first time joining a linux community after sys admining linux for six years and its same old same old way way to many people salty about meaningless shit.

Quoting: scaineWhat's the problem, exactly?
other than the importance of spreading false info...
But its not important i know exactly how it works, i have IT degree worked as a linux admin for 6 years. Bottom line do not care what you want to call it call magic for all i fucking care, Wine is good program for getting windows programs to run on linux for those that need them the end.
