Chronicon continues to be one of the best 2D indie action-RPGs around

Quoting: NezchanI can't recall hearing about this, but the look of it intrigues me greatly. Looking up gameplay videos for the early and midgame, which honestly grabs me more than this endgame video does, gives me a really good impression.

How well does it play on controller? That's my preference for action games, and I still wish Torchlight II had better support, I'd still be playing that today.
Well, I just fired it up to see how it plays... and it won't start. Looks like there's a bug (when using Ubuntu?) at the moment [External Link] preventing the game from running. Hopefully the dev comes back to me!

This game was a lot of fun early on, although a bit unbalanced. Seeing it now, it looks like they've spent a bit of time on the loot to make sure you didn't become too godlike early on, but clearly you can become so by the late game.

So, the video is a bit misleading, I think - showing off near-endgame characters makes it looks like far too much is going on. From memory, it's nowhere near as confusing/busy as that for the bulk of the game, and by the time it gets like that, you know what your strategy is anyway, so you're not caring about the numbers and the outcomes, you're just moving through the enemies, using your abilities to take them down, while monitoring your health and mana.

My point is, the video probably isn't a great representation of the gameplay I remember.

I don't see any gum jumping. A major developer cast aspersions on Linux support for a crucial piece of middleware affecting many games. I want that news reported.

If Liam sat on news like this, waiting for official communications, half the controversial stories would break elsewhere, without any community damage control, such as dredgepits like Reddit.

Please keep doing what you're doing, Liam. It's much appreciated.

I wonder if that developer would be willing to share the Linux breakdown? I think I'll pick this one up - heard nothing but praise for it.

This looks like a CardHunter type game. Very interested in this one.

There aren't too many truly co-op games out there - as in, games that require you to coordinate with another player in order to advance. Portal 2 is a good example, but in terms of "special place in my heart", I'd definitely recommend Ibb & Obb.

This looks pretty cool. I think I remember the first - it was a 2D side scrolling "escape the tower" type thing, wasn't it? Let down by overly-simple combat, I think, but the graphics looked pretty nice.

This looks like the game they wanted to make all along. I'm not sure why, but the environment puts me in the mind of Mirror's Edge...

I saw this a few months back... on twitter maybe? But there wasn't anything that suggested that it was getting a Linux release. Massively hyped to play this. It looks amazing.

Huh. Bought it, it doesn't run, at all. Probably related to glibc version that micha noted above. I'll check the discussion forums, but will probably just refund. I can't be bothered with hassle for games these days... :(

Quoting: EikeI sometimes get strange scrolling behaviour, probably due to quotes folding afterwards or something like this. When you use his link, go to the URL box and press enter, maybe it will resolve properly?
Nope - still just a generic page URL for me. I'm on Ubuntu 16.04, latest Chrome. Same behaviour on Kubuntu 18.10, latest Chrome.

I was curious, so I've just tried it on Firefox - it works. So this is a Chrome issue.

Huh, scratch that. I just tried Chrome incognito and it works there too. So it's something to do with my profile, or something related to an add-on I use that isn't switched on with incognito. Probably a greasemonkey script, although the only one I use disables those annoying pop ups that appear when your mouse leaves the browser window... I'm sure you know the ones. Even then, that script is hit or miss, so probably that.
