Valve give Steam developer and publisher pages a little extra visibility

Absolutely bizarre that this happens just a few days after I commented that many publishers and developers don't have these pages, and that when they don't, there's no easy way to block them!!

https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2025/04/delta-force-devs-say-desktop-linux-support-is-not-part-of-our-agenda-in-the-future/?comment_id=278308

I do follow a handful too, but it's honestly the blocking feature I use most!

I'm so spiteful...

Edit to add: I still don't get the creator pages when I click on a publisher or developer. It looks like you have to click on the word "Homepage" in brackets after their name. If you click on the publisher's actual name, you just get a list of their games in the usual Steam search format! If there's no "Homepage" link, then they haven't set up a creator page, I suspect.

GeForce NOW app for Steam Deck has arrived

I hope (probably forlornly) that this is the start of many such apps being better supported under Linux, simply because the SteamDeck is driving engagement. It would be amazing to see Spotify, Netflix, Prime, Paramount or Disney creating apps like this, ideally through Flathub, that provide a better Linux experience, and even better if they support the Deck's controls in gaming mode.

I think I'm dreaming though.

Good point. Since it's a quote, I've edited the article!

LACT is also superb, and on Flathub, so installation was a breeze. Totally painless.

It's allowed me to create a slightly more aggressive fan curve that took my GPU temperature from 80 degrees to around 65 degrees under heavy load, simply by spinning up earlier. I also slightly increased the TDW limit to 315, which was at like 306/340 for some reason. That seemed to give me 60fps on Helldivers 2, unless the recent patches also had optimisation behind the scenes that I'm not aware of.

These are great tools.

I have to admit that Noita has ruined me for just about every "create your own spells" game. I'm still playing it now, after well over 800 hours.

Obviously a very different style of game, this though.

Into the Restless Ruins gets you to deck-build a dungeon and then explore it

Very different style of game, but the Guild of Dungeoneering (https://store.steampowered.com/app/317820/Guild_of_Dungeoneering_Ultimate_Edition/) has a similar mechanic of laying tiles to create your dungeon.

I'll probably end up giving this a go, but I agree, any mechanic that can so easily cut you off from completing a level is flawed and unsatisfactory.

Ring of Pain was superb. These Devs seem to have a theme going on with their titles though!

Dune: Awakening will have BattlEye enabled for Linux, SteamOS / Steam Deck

@Strapinski, just what a I read on Reddit. Lots of bans without any reason given, something about Cuba being banned after selling there for years, 34 1-star reviews on Truspilot (out of 35 total), it all paints a picture of a fairly toxic support process.

I suspect a lot of the negativity is really related to Funcom being bought by the Chinese, when Tencent stepped in.

Didn't realise this was Funcom, one of the more controversial publisher's out there. Their moderators are... concerning. Some of the Conan stories I've heard are really worrying.

I mean, it's Dune, so I might take a chance on this? But not until a few months in and reviews are settled, I think.
