Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition Looks Set For Release This Month
7 Oct 2015 at 8:48 pm UTC

Quoting: DrMcCoyTheir second kickstarter is not mentioning GNU/Linux at all. There never will be support.
Actually their second kickstarter did have FAQ entry quite clearly stating that their sole focus would be windows and that they would perhaps consider Mac and Linux after release. Maybe. I think the language was something like "we wouldn't rule it out".

So... D: OS2 expected Dec 2016, give it the same 8 to 10 month slippage that the first game experienced, add 15 to 18 months for the Linux version... so roughly Christmas 2018. Hmmm.

I'll pass.

This is... 15 months after its release on Windows, right? No wonder I'd forgotten about this, other than the occasional reminder popping up here or r/linux_gaming. Not sure if I'll pick this up, but if it's as good as everyone was making out, then it's probably worth punting some money at them.

Provided it's a solid release. I'll be waiting a few more weeks then. Maybe a little Christmas present from me to me...

Sales Statistics From Super Win the Game, All Platforms Did Badly

It's not my type of game, and I don't personally ever plan to buy it. I imagine a lot of people also feel the same way about it. That's not to say it isn't a good game, I just burnt myself out on retro type games a long time ago.
And if we're being honest - a large portion of Linux titles from the 1500 on Steam will fall into this category. That's what makes this kind of story pretty frustrating: AAA houses could look at these figures as indicative, but I suspect that the reality is that if you launch a AAA game on Linux, you'll see a bigger slice of sales going to AAA-starved Linux gamers.

I've just dropped £23 on SOMA and had £35 tucked away for Alien:Isolation until the delay. If I was still gaming on Windows, these awesome games would be vying with the likes of GTA IV, CoD, Battlefield and upcoming titles like Subnautic, Vermintide and many, many others.

I almost want to break my "no EA" rule for this. Almost. One to watch, definitely.

Have You Tried DreadOut? It’s A Rather Freaky Game On Linux

The game left me needing a shot of rum and to sit in the brightest room imaginable, so I would call that a win for the developer.
You guys probably dont realize how much dedication Liam puts to his job <3
With SOMA right around the corner, Liam had better stock up on rum...

Alien Robot Monsters Released Tower Defence For Linux, It's Quite Boring

Quoting: liamdaweObviously everyone has different views, thoughts are my own. You call it harsh, I call it my honest thoughts.

I'm a big fan of TD games, but this just did not draw me in. The upgrade system really isn't all that great.
Absolutely! Never meant to imply dishonestly, Liam. Your reviews do tend reflect your opinions superbly, whether it's a game bought with your own money or a developer gift. I just have a different opinion! Perhaps I'm overtly swayed by how similar this is to Kingdom Rush (a brilliant TD game), but I'm still really enjoying this one. It's... satisfying.

Alien Robot Monsters Released Tower Defence For Linux, It's Quite Boring

Fraid I can't agree with that review. I'm really enjoying this - the multitude of tower upgrades give this TD game a unique selling point. It's also got a lot in common with Kingdom Rush and that's no bad thing - in-lane warriors, missile strikes and para-troopers are similar to KR's knights, comets and re-inforcements, but it's all sufficiently different that I feel that this is £4 well spent.

The pacing is nice, perhaps a little slow, but some of the linked upgrades are fantastic. Linked upgrades mean that you don't just build a flame-tower. Instead you build a MG-tower, upgrade its range, which unlocks a ranger tower. Upgrade the ranger tower with rockets and that unlocks the flamer. It's a neat system and reasonably logical so you don't have too much to remember. But it adds flexibility to your strategy.

So yeah, this a harsh article. If you like TD generally and you like Kingdom Rush especially, you'll love this - it's slickly done and dirt cheap.

Oh - quick edit to add:
1. No fullscreen issues on Intel chip. Perhaps it's NVidia specific?
2. No CPU hogging either, but there wouldn't be on Intel graphics? Perhaps use Nvidia-config to create an app profile for this game and enforce the v-sync on that profile?

Arma 3 Public Linux Beta Soon, Being Used As An Evaluation

I don't do beta or EA, but I really enjoyed Arma 2 pre-2013 when I still had Windows.

If they do it properly, I'll buy it. But not paying them to test their game for them. Just don't understand the concept of EA...

Looks Like Feral Interactive's Linux Ports Will See More AMD Love
24 Aug 2015 at 8:14 pm UTC

Can't quite make out what the Sapphire GPU is at the back, but given that there's a 980 and 970 in there with the R9 390, I hope it's another AMD card. But "AMD CPUs" is good too. A decent mix.
