It felt a bit outbursty though, imo. The pricing is premium, but hardly absurd, as other comments have shown (better spec, addition of premium charger). And Valve still are the good guy, I think, by not demanding you use that premium product - go buy the JSAUX if that suits your price point. Other vendors won't let you do so (Apple, Nintendo mainly).

And as for making the product better - nah. As much as I love GamingOnLinux, and as much as I appreciate Liam's relationships with Valve staff and everything he does to promote Linux as a viable platform... a comment on a thread on GOL isn't going to help improve anything, sadly. If only it did!

But hey, we all enjoy a rant (to a point), and this site does a remarkable job of allowing most/all voices to be heard, providing they stick to the rules.

I'm sure they're at least attempting to track a whole lot more than that. In fact, I suspect that this is the way their now trying to fund this whole thing. Because why would a store go trough all the trouble of using an external company when they still have to collect all the data themselves? I don't trust any of the schemes at all and each of those domains gets a full block. It's unfortunate that I can't use the links anymore, but to me these links are no better than tracked ads.

All I can tell you is that neither of those domains existed in over 3 months of PiHole logs until I tried the link above today... so hopefully you're over-reacting in this case. But again, no judgement from me, Ehvis. I see that you already support the site as a Supporter Plus, as do I. There are lots of ways to support GOL and if affiliate links cross the line in the sand you marked for tracking, that's understandable.

Sounds to me like those things are doing their job in preventing unnecessary tracking. I see no reason to change that.

Just a quick note on the Fanataical links - if you're running a PiHole on default settings, you'll have to whitelist www.anrdoezrs.net and www.emjcd.com. This is similar to the issue faced with GOG affiliation, which used track.adtraction.com.

This is probably my most played game on my Steamdeck after almost never getting played at all on my main PC. The tracks are a perfect length for "pick up and play" gaming.

Well, I feel like I need to pick apart a couple of points on that. Hopefully I'm not mis-quoting you, as I generally don't like "quote spamming" a reply, but here goes.

That's not "worse", or "hating" - to me, that's the opposite. Ubuntu and System 76 LOVE Gnome, but they recognise weaknesses, and have addressed those weaknesses. No idea what Ubuntu do to Gnome, right enough, other than add the Dash to Panel extension, but it's been a while since I tried it. As for System 76, they just wanted a better dock and better tiling.

Sounds like you might be a bit out of date on Plasma. It doesn't feel very Windows-y to me. The start menu, I suppose, is vaguely similar, albeit no tiles. I mean, if that was genuinely your biggest complaint, I'd suggest spending some time with alternative panel widgets and some theming. Although, Plasma's theming is pretty unintuitive. But if you're comfortable on Gnome, why bother?

I actually can't believe that you took my post complaining about your childish negativity over a distro and decided to respond with a lengthy post being negative about the entire Thelio range (again), re-iterating your dislike of both Gnome and GTK (again) and then throwing completely unwarranted bullshit at KDE too. You're nothing if not consistent.

We'll agree to differ at least.
