Did you never figure out that "look at floor/ceiling" bug? Was it reported elsewhere? Feels like it's controller related, but I never experienced it.

I guess the other advantage of having this built into the game (rather than relying on a full-screen hack) is that it will only need to apply FSR to the scene itself, and not the HUD too, which should make it even more crisp.

I never finished Cyberpunk 2077, despite nearly 50 hours played. There's so much in there, content-wise, I kept forgetting to progress the "real" story. Great game, lots of fun.

This is a great article! Brotato is a PERFECT game for the Deck.

I'd add Monster Train and Backpack Hero. Both are excellent on the Deck.

It looks good in a way that the crude, 1970's-cartoon style graphics don't do justice to. For the same reason, stills of this game look awful, but the video suggests an absolute gem of a game. I think I'll stick this on my wishlist, after seeing it in motion.

They should definitely release one for the new Uncharted release. Pretty disappointing that it needs a launch command, but it sounds like quite an easy "patch" to fix it.

I don't think Crimsonland is really relevant. It's a twin-stick for a start. It's also over a tenner. It lacks synergy building. But most importantly, the original came out in 2004, and the remake was 2014, but barely anyone has heard of it. It wasn't new or influential in the way that VS obviously is, to have created a new genre, an entire industry of clones.

It's more Smash TV than Vampire Survivors. Robotron with weapon choice.

But who knows, maybe the devs did get their inspiration there.

Sure, I know it's DRM. But I'm curious why I can play Netflix at 720p, but not 1080p or 4K. And DRM is usually optional - like, install this codec/software and now we trust you, you can play. But we don't get that option on the Linux desktop. We get 720p if we're lucky, like Netflix, Prime, Disney+, and nothing if we're not (NowTV). It's weird.

On Netflix, you can check the technical specs of a given stream by hitting CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-D, which confirms 720p for me.

EDIT: I guess Mr-Victory answered that one. I didn't realise there were "levels" in the WideVine DRM. I didn't even realise that the WideVine firefox plug-in was what was giving me that ability to play at 720p.

They won't because they can't deliver high resolution video on linux, anyway. Their license agreements with publishers demand them to check for full encryption pipelines, even though everyone knows the last chain, hdcp, can be broken by most cheap hdmi splitters from bargain bins. It's really stupid, but that's how things are. There's no way for them to talk all big publishers into delivering the content without these checks and Linux will not get official support for high-resolution streaming for years, if ever.
I guess the only way around that would be having GPUs that can receive, decode and display the stream in firmware without any further OS controlled IO.

How is it that Android-based players, such as the Amazon FireTV boxes, which are based on Linux (the kernel), can play 4K streams from Netflix and Prime? I've never understood what's missing from the core Linux desktop experience to make this such a problem.
