I doubt that big publishers like EA with Origin or Bethesda will be part of it. At least not at the beginning. However, if a critical mass of subscribers is formed, they might eventually see themselves forced to be present there as well. But it also depends on how the monetization for the developers/publishers looks like.

But there is another aspect that must not be forgotten. Many stay with Windows because they can simply play their games there. Maybe one or the other will switch to Linux soon, because he will be able to play his games OS-independently in his browser.

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoIn the meantime, Linux has lost usage in the Steam Hardware Survey of February
That´s true ... but in absolute numbers the User-count grewth. See what Valve employee Pierre-Loup Griffais said about it a few weeks ago:
"The overall percentage still has a lot of ground to make up, but the number of Linux gamers on Steam continues to grow at a similar rate as those playing on Windows," Steam developer Pierre-Loup Griffais told Engadget. "It looks like there might actually be an increase trend in Linux gamers starting from October when we released the new Steam Play [Proton] beta, but it's too early to tell if it's had a real lasting impact.”

Additional we have actually an increase of chinese gamers (caused by the launch of Apex Legends). We see here a similar high impact like with PUBG from the chinese Gamers (traditonally highly tagged to Windwos) to the Linux Share:

Numbers of the survey regarding the used Language:
English: - 2,41%
Simplified Chinese: +3,54%
Traditional Chinese: + 0,17%

Sorry, but a burnt child dreads the fire. It´s a multiplayer game and it is Early Access. Remember

Paladins
Apex Legends (not Proton, but Wine)
...
This is a solo/co-op game, they really have no need for EAC and from what I read they have no plans to add it in either.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Sorry to disappoint you, but FAudio was already bundled with Proton so nothing changes in this regard ;). See https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/wiki/Changelog#316-5 [External Link]

But isn't FAudio included in Proton already ?
Yes.
There are next to FAudio2 other fixes in 4.3. As soon Valve adopted 4.3 into Proton we will see much more improvements.

As soon as Valve adopted Wine 4.3 into Proton we can see how much it brings.
