Creator of WebRTC now working on Google Stadia, Darksiders Genesis out plus more Stadia news

Darksiders is one of my all time favorite franchises. I played the original on Xbox 360 and now own all of the other games...on steam. And they all run on Linux via proton. Currently this game has a platinum rating on protondb so I'll likely get this one on steam too, I just wish they'd release the Linux/vulkan binary. Native > Proton, especially with how well DS:G runs on stadia. I did end up purchasing it to try it on Stadia but will likely refund.

Stadia Pro's 4K stream is 4k60. It's up to the game developers to make their games run well enough on Stadia at 4k.

Set between Half-Life and Half-Life 2, Valve have now properly announced Half-Life: Alyx (updated)

*Cue the influx of second hand vives to ebay.* I'll likely upgrade myself too, this game looks like a game I would invest time into in VR.

The index controllers were already a game changer for me in terms of the level of immersion so I cannot wait to experience this with the full kit.

Google have now expanded the launch titles for Stadia up to 22

Quoting: BotonoskiReally seems like they're rushing this out the door as quickly as possible when they're adding to their launch roster so soon before release. Really ought to make sure things are set in stone before you announce them in my opinion.
Google stated they're only announcing games that have been 100% cleared for release by the developers. These additional 10 games weren't ready during the initial announcement, hence a second one.

This really isn't that surprising. Stadia is presented as a rolling platform with updates trickling out over time as they're ready.

Quoting: drlambI hear 2-3-1 is all the rage these days but I wouldn't want to get mixed up in all that.
A bot could sure try to unravel my logic puzzle but it seems two humanoids (Can't assume these days :P) got it.

After all I'm just showing my appreciation to Feral. :) I'm sure there will be other creative give-aways from me in the future.

Edit Solution: One had to rearrange the items to be 1-2-3 instead.

Edit: Both stated to be claimed. :D

The Linux port of Shadow of Mordor from Feral Interactive has gained a Vulkan Beta, a massive difference
17 Oct 2019 at 2:34 pm UTC Likes: 1

Quoting: GuestI'm wondering if this was only possible because Feral already had the Mad Max vukan port available. Given that Shadow of Mordor uses the same engine (I think anyway - they are both WB titles), it may have been pretty easy to make happen.
No. Shadow of Mordor uses LithTech [External Link] and Mad Max uses the Apex engine (formerly avalanche) [External Link].

The vulkan work on Mad Max likely didn't hurt though. :)

System76 have put Coreboot into two of their main Intel-powered laptops

Quoting: GuestI really hope System76 starts offering AMD-based laptops.
Agreed, but I also wish AMD could open up the PSP. It's great to see ryzen getting coreboot support from Google though.

It's a shame the most premium AMD laptop is made by Microsoft (Surface Laptop 3 15"). I'm going to see if I can get Linux running on one.
