I know but it's a *worse* experience than via Proton which is what I'm saying. I played via proton to avoid the issues in the Native build.

It's never crashed for me under Proton. Native? Multiple times.

Take the following screenshots for example, note where my cursor is. This issue isn't present under proton, only native.

Play button ACTIVE:

Play button NOT ACTIVE:

I'm sure this has some effect on my aim as well.

I've been loving this game aside from some random UE4 crashes that I've experienced with the Native build. While I used to be able to play flawlessly with Proton I now get kicked for "Suspicious activity" after awhile. I hope that the crashes, the random mouse input-loss, and the issue with cursor mapping being above the buttons gets fixed asap as it's a definite downside to Native.

The player base being so high (currently at least) gives me hope that this game will last longer than Ballistic Overkill in people's minds. The true test will be Halo Infinite. (Which hopefully will work under proton as well...)

Looks like Splitgate will be the next 'big thing' FPS supported on Linux

I'm liking this game a lot but after several crashes I've resorted to playing via Proton for now.

For whatever reason (on top of the issues listed above) it seems that my mouse cursor is several centimeters off from where I'd expect. I have to "overcompensate" to accurately click menu buttons, etc. Does not happen in Proton.

This game is A LOT more polished than Ballistic Overkill.

How is Maneater? That's a game I WAS looking forward to prior to the EGS exclusivity. I know it recently released on Steam so I may grab it.

It's a shame that Epic the company has tainted my view of the Unreal Engine. I used to marvel at the UE used in Gears of War on the Xbox 360 (2005) thinking it was the best engine in the world. Now I see it as a really good engine tied to a less-than-stellar company.

The day Epic Games themselves support Linux via their store and first party games is the day Epic wins back my admiration.

This was not a personal or professional attack. I appreciate projects like this and people like you for creating something that didn't exist to fill a need/want in the Linux ecosystem.

I have a strong disdain for the bloated electron framework. This isn't simply "Why use this when X exists?" There's already too many apps that I have to use that requires it (Slack for work, for example).

Then again I'm not the target market for this. If I needed/wanted a game from the EGS I'd likely us it directly via Wine or use legendary.

Many an hour were lost to this game, Alien arena, and Cube 2. They were all my laptop Intel iGPU could play at the time.

I more or less agree. While I'm likely to try this new update with Friends via LAN seeing the popularity of the Steam-released Cube 2 Homage Tomatenquark [External Link] (the name likely doesn't help) I'm not holding out much hope for a huge player base resurgence.

I still don't understand the use of Electron in this. Rare [External Link] doesn't require it and does similar things.

Quoting: EikeI believe you it's an major thing for many Stadia users, but seen from the outside, it's not the incentive Stadia needs to attract many players.
I will agree with you there. This serves only as library-padding to those users that would otherwise dismiss Stadia due to its library size.

It's going to take a while to break this cycle:

P1: "Stadia has no games!"

P2: "[GAME NAMES HERE] are coming to Stadia."

P1: "THOSE GAMES SUCK/ARE BORING/ARE INDIES/ARE OLD/TOO EXPENSIVE/ETC."
