So instead of looking like Windows 2000 it will look like Windows XP with the silver theme?

Why not just let the framerate cap be an arbitrary number? I'd probably be okay with playing games like Sleeping Dogs at 24 FPS, as long as it was consistent.
How Valve Can Make the Deck Verified Program Better

I haven't read the article yet, but before reading it this is what my opinion is:
The big steps in verification should be:
1. The developer tests the game internally.
2. The developer submits the game for review.
3. Valve tests the game.
4. Valve either certifies the game or sends the developer back to step 1, with notes on why the game failed.
Steps 1 and 2 are missing from Valve's process.

Valve expect to make 'hundreds of thousands' of Steam Decks next month

As others have said, the minimum for "hundreds of thousands" is 100,000. So for 12 months it's 1.2 million, and for 5 years it's 6 million units, which is about 5% of what the Switch sold in the first 5 years, as a minimum. Not too bad in my opinion.

I like the company and I own all their games, but I can't stomach horror so I don't play them. I really wish they would make a game that isn't horror, like maybe a creepy but not scary mystery so that for once I could enjoy their work.

You can also download the source code and install it using make. Just make sure to have libncurses-dev or equivalent installed on your system.

It took me about 5 hours to finish the game. It's super easy yet very fun. Just when I thought it was going to become a point and click adventure it ended, which was disappointing.
