Quoting: GuestWhy even bother with linux at all if you remove all aspects that makes it linux? you are turning linux into android.
No, what makes Linux Linux is that it is open source and can be adapted to fit specific use cases. In this case it is to provide a simple to update / roll back stable experience for an appliance type device. It succeeds here for what it is intended, and to be honest I have not heard of any system updates breaking things in the 2 years since it launched.

I really don't get why people are so weird about it.

Stories like this happen every few years. In the early 2010s, a local government in some European city (I forget which) announced they were entirely switching to Linux in all their public service departments. 2 weeks go by, "no, sorry we're sticking with Windows". Turns out they had a visit from a Microsoft sales rep.

These "issues that plague SteamOS" are not issues at all, they're such by design to provide a stable OS for use on appliance-like hardware.

Death Stranding from Kojima is getting the live-action movie treatment

I think the above 3 folks are missing one important detail. They are not directly adapting the game. It'll be a different story with different characters, set within the same reality. The press release makes it sound like they might focus on a time closer to the start of the death stranding.

They should make the film and then also release an extra version with an additional 10 hours of hiking.

They could call it The Strider Cut.

Xorg is dead, long live Wayland - Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) dropping Xorg

I don't think Wayland is ready, but eh, maybe the best way to get it ready is just to dive in and switch and then have a short period of fevered rage-filled panic as things get patched and fixed, and then we good.

MKB for almost everything on PC. And on my Steam Deck it's the controller, obvs.

Quoting: ElectricPrismI guess I won't have to manually install Baldurs Gate 3 mods. Great. Though I think we are done with the game until they stabalize it and get their updates out of the way. 4 playthroughs in enough.
You could use Lamp for BG3 mods. Mentioned in another post above, but you can get it here https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/2169 [External Link]
