Quoting: denyasisIf you're taking that much from a dev that did 100% of the work making a game as a cost for a sales platform, you better be doing something much more that processing credit card payments and running an E-stote

They are doing a lot more than "processing credit card payments and running an E-stote" and I am sure you know this and just making bad faith arguments to be edgy.

Quoting: LanzI picked this up and it's great thus far! I do think they should have just called it Ion Fury 2 or something along those lines, but I'm glad it's here.

For that you have Phantom Fury to look forward to.

Don't like this. The long term result of this is that they will stop offering regional pricing.

Unity announced big changes following the hated Runtime Fee

This is very likely the result they were aiming for in the first place. It's a standard coercion tactic, sometimes referred to as "Door in the face" that involves making a big demand that they know will be outright rejected and then doing some small concessions knowing that people would then be more open to it.

EDIT: what person above said also :)

Gamescope added support for ReShade shaders on Linux / SteamOS

I do like that this will supported at this level, but when they say "subset" it likely will not include anything that, for example, uses depth maps or anything like that. For my own purposes I will stick to ReShade installed per game. I have an easy file copy-paste preset I use to easily enable it in a game.

I don't use vkBasalt for this mainly because when last I checked it also did not provide the config overlay.

GOG: No, because GOG only restricts the download of the files. The game files are "free". Multiplayer through GOG Galaxy on the other hand is DRMed, that's true.

You should probably read the EULA on GoG games. They are DRM free at a technical level, sure, but you are still legally limited.

QuoteAny form of DRM is bad for consumers
True, but I don't get your Denuvo hate. Steam itself is DRM, but you find it fine. And unlike Denuvo, Steam's DRM is much more invasive: it applies to all games - even when the binary itself is DRM free.

By that logic, GoG also is DRM because you have to be logged in to download your games. Also, how is that more intrusive than something than Denuvo's requirement of elevated system privileges?

I also bounced off this. It was okay and I liked the style and setting, but I'd have preferred if it was a lot shorter.
