I grabbed the first one thinking, "hey this looks relaxing" It is not. It's hard as balls. But fun.

Quoting: M@GOidGamepad support is broken on the demo. Seriously guys, is 2019. People don't play 2D games on keyboard anymore (except some stubborn weirdos).

With that said, it looks like my kind of game. I hope they can fix gamepad support before the launch, so I can buy it. I learned in the hard way NOT to expect important fixes after the launch of a game.
I'm a stubborn weirdo. Keys are more responsive than analogue sticks.

Quoting: KohlyKohlI like the genre but I don't care for the time only moves when you move gimmick.
@KohlyKohl What genre are you talking about? I ask because all the roguelikes I have played have the "time only moves when you do gimmick".
I wasn't even thinking about the roguelike aspect but rather as a top down shooter.
This definitely does not qualify as a shooter, top down or otherwise. It has grid based movement even.

A look over Steam's top releases for June 2019, plus a look at the top games by player count

Amusingly, of all of those there's maybe 3 I think I'd actually ever want to play. I think it's because the metric is by (concurrent?) player count. Games I favour tend to be one-and-done type games, mostly single player. The last non-native AAA(ish) game I played was A Plague Tale, which was great, but unlikely to ever show up in a list like this, even during release week.

Quoting: Alm888First "Supraland", now this. The story is basically the same: a developer lamenting about low GNU/Linux sales and me being completely uninterested in the games in question (would not even know about them if not for the news on this site).
You did not read the article. There's no "lamenting".... he says the sales are low, but also that it was easy to port and support.

D9VK for translating D3D9 to Vulkan for Wine has another new version out, 0.13f - "Hypnofrog"
15 Jul 2019 at 7:34 pm UTC

Still slashing my way through Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen running on Glorious Eggroll's custom proton, with the latest D9VK manually installed on top of it as it was a version or so behind. Smooth smooth.

Seems that the Linux version of Supraland will not be heading to GOG (updated)

Just reinforcing what has already been said. If you are "lending" someone your GoG games, you are pirating, according to the GoG terms of use.

Quoting: GuestSo far I did use the d9vk-winelib-git AUR package in Arch Linux. Is this the one that I should avoid and switch instead to the mingw package?
You shouldnt really be using any d9vk AUR packages. Use something that has it built in (ie. GE Proton, wine-tkg) or install it yourself on top of a prefix.
Thanks, maybe I understood it wrong what the package in AUR did. I used it to compile D9VK, then I installed it into the proton game prefix of Steam. Worked really well for me, but I will follow your advice to see if it makes a difference!
This is also how I did it and just like you it seems to work fine.

Have been trying Dragon's Dogma with this and it does seem to work quite well. May have to go plumb the depths of my Steam library to see what else I could throw at it.

The Lion King, Aladdin and The Jungle Book no longer available on Steam, some about to leave GOG too

So that's why we need sellers like g2a...
In cases like this I have to agree.
I bought them from there as well, yesterday when I first read this article.

I would have bought them from a less shady store, but I don't know of any. And this is a big problem, when there are no better alternatives, of course people are gonna have to use the shady one.

I'd have bought from Steam. I can't, so I'd have bought from a reputable reseller. Didn't know of any good one, so I had to use dirty G2A.

I don't feel bad. They left me no option.
So ok, GoL does not advocate piracy, but I have to lay this out. Consider these two options:

1. Download the Sega or Amiga roms. They are much better quality than what you get to run in DOSBox. Or just grab a pirated copy of the DOS ones. The developer gets no money.

2. Buy from scumbags G2A. They get money they don't deserve. Dev still does not get the money.

I know we're talking about Disney here, so I guess who cares if they get more money, but what you have done is given money to some random scum peddler instead... why? What logic is there in that?

Please, for the love of all things, let G2A die.
