I take it you've never experienced depression, then. I think this is a good idea, going to upvote it.
I didn't mean weird in a bad way, I like weird. I meant it more like "unique". I didn't mean this as an insult to the devs or anyone suffering from depression. And while at one point in my life I had a bit of depression I now know that it was rather mild compared to some that really suffer and that I don't really have any issues with this at all anymore. I would buy this for sure.

Valve's Steam Machines & Controller To Ship To Beta Testers 13th December!

It'll be alright guys, even those of us in the states wont be getting it, I cant imagine how large the pool was and to only go with 300 means almost no one got one. You can just build your own and grab the steamOS. The hardware is kind of irrelevant except maybe the controller.

It depends on tastes. For me it looks cheap and as boring as the PS4 and Xbone or any other high-tech mass market product. And that light bar must be annoyingly distracting when playing in a dark room.
I hate to stare at a bright screen in the dark, it's why i very rarely go to the cinema, talk about headaches :(

I think it looks really quite something personally, I bet we will see a lot of interesting designs coming out of people though just wait and see.
Its interesting how everyone is different. I hate when the lights are on while im looking at a screen, I find it distracting and I always turn off all the lights when I watch a movie or use the computer.

Rage Under Wine, How It Performs

Quoting: Quote from scaineYep, pretty sad Carmack gave it up like that. I have zero interest in wine personally - even well packaged wine games like Limbo use an absolutely unacceptable amount of CPU on my laptop while Trine heats it up less, doing more. I'm not a fan of it.
He quit recently. He doesn't work for id and I think he has also stopped making game engines.

Infection: Last Rites - DNA On Desura's Alpha Fund, Video Included

you could probably get a lot more performance if you turned antialiasing off and then you could most likely turn everything else up. Its better usually to turn the resolution up instead of antialiasing, unless that was the native resolution of your monitor. Oh nevermind I just checked the video again and you had it at the new standard of 1920x1080 but you could still probably turn everything else up if you turn of AA.
