Quoting: Quote from happygirlI agree. I love this series more than the other Nordic gamesQuoting: Quote from heleJust because it is one of the few titles that put your skills over scripts doesn't mean it's "medicore game", I'd actually rate it 10/10.Quoting: Quote from OZSeafordI'm wondering why they chose Painkiller, because it's not the best game in their catalogue (quite mediocre actually).Quoting: Quote from heleI'm not interested in Painkiller, but I'm wondering if Nordic Games can port Alan Wake and Gothic 3. I'd also appreciate Dungeon Lords MMXII.Gothic 3 huuuuummmmm, lovely

Quoting: Quote from Orkultus"Unreal is already available in a Mac native form, it is the Linux version which has not been upkept over the years."they are ported individually by each game studio not the unreal engine creators iirc
Although we are getting games that run on the Unreal engine natively now?? This dont make sense.

Quoting: Quote from scaineI've played about 230 hours of KF now, about 40 of those on Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit with a GTX670. I was getting all those bugs initially. I played a bit over the weekend and nearly all of them are resolved... kind of. I say kind of because for 6 waves, everything was perfect. Then something glitched during wave 7... like a v-sync hiccup, and suddenly some of the textures were missing again. Not sure about the crossbow anymore, I played over the last weekend though and most of the texture problems were still there. The part that makes it unplayable for me is the flashlight. It literally makes it unplayable for me if the level is too dark, if I use the flashlight I cant see anything because its all messed up looking and if I dont use it I cant see because its dark. I could forgive them of everything except the flashlight problem.
The only level it bothers me though is West London, where most of the ground textures are missing. Office is missing ground texture too, but only in the car park, so you rarely see it (the car park is a death trap best avoided, at least on Hard/Nightmare modes). A few pipes lose their texture. And are you still getting the crossbow texture error? That was fixed months ago, I thought.
With the exception of the crossbow scope, it's hardly making the game unplayable though. A distraction at worst.
And I'll say it again, it seems odd to pour derision on a developer's attempts to release for your platform because an ancient, badly ported game doesn't work too well on your system. I find that attitude incredibly frustrating. Now imagine if I was the said developer. Frustrating AND demotivating.

Quoting: Quote from n30p1r4t3Are you sure, have you seen how its supposed to look? I have 3 different nvidia computers with different cards and they all suffer from the corruptions only in Linux. Essentially the flashlight is useless, it creates a square of broken textures that obstructs the view making dark levels impossible to play. Also the map where you start out outside with the broken cars, there are no textures everything is grey [External Link], there are no floors in most inside maps, just grey [External Link]. Invisible monsters look like they are made of mercury like the silver surfer [External Link]. Sometimes the knife is invisible [External Link]. Glass doesnt always work [External Link]. The sight on the crossbow is black and doesnt work at all, making the weapon useless [External Link]. There are many threads about the problem and icculus said he was working on it since last November but the problem remains. The game is barely playable because of it, really wish they would fix it. I could show you more but I think that’s enough.Quoting: Quote from QydfacThere port of KF is horrific (nvidia texture bugs and low fps)I don't suffer from any of these issues (Gtx 680). Can you please show me?
I'm worried.

Quoting: Quote from QydfacThere port of KF is horrific (nvidia texture bugs and low fps)Im with you on this one. I love playing killing floor but the nvidia texture bug is really bad, some levels are almost unplayable because of it. Id really like them to fix this. Id rather they fix this bug than make new games.
I'm worried.
