Upcoming strategy game 'Radio General' has you yell orders down a microphone

Yeah, I'm not going to shout WWII orders into a microphone here in Germany, my neighbours would probably misinterpret that...

I also already had my share of speech recognition gaming in the 90s: https://www.mobygames.com/game/virtual-corporation [External Link] . That experience still leaves a terrible taste in my mouth

I played part of the first episode back when it was released, but stopped in the middle to wait for it all to be finished. Guess I can play it now :)

...Once I find time to play it, that is. Curse you, RL.

I played Technobabylon natively with a self-compiled AGS some time ago.

I should really look if I can create a portable package of that AGS for people to download and use. Maybe poke also Wadjet Eye with it, or maybe see if that could go into Steam like that DOSBox container thing.

Steam getting expanded support for Soundtracks with a Sale Event on January 20

Oooh, I really really like that.

That also means I can just bulk-download all the soundtracks I have, copy them into my Soundtracks music folder, to rename and retag them properly.

I love soundtracks. I listen to them often, and I also use them, where appropriate, for my pen & paper RPGs.

The Humble Choice bundle is up for January with 12 games to pick from

Quoting: fenevadkanwhat 2 games do you guys are gonna skip out of the 12?
Fuck, this is exactly what I feared :(

I'm going to stare at that for a few hours without coming to a decision, then cry myself to sleep, I guess.

Or on second thought, since January hasn't been paid yet, I'm going to cancel altogether. Better not have any of these at all than being paralyzed.

Thanks to Proton, you can have 'A Date in the Park' in this intriguing free short adventure; some thoughts

Huh, I don't get why you'd play it with Proton. That's an AGS game.

I played that, a few years ago, with a native AGS build I compiled myself. Really, I wish the dev would just publish a Steam package using a proper AGS build for Linux

You can now return to the world of 1997's Blade Runner, as it's up and restored on GOG

Would have been nice if they tweaked the name though, as even on Linux the menu option says Windows which is a bit amusing
No, that's standard ScummVM policy. Because it's the Windows version of the original game.

Blade Runner was originally just released for Windows, but for other games ScummVM supports, this might display, for example, "DOS", "Amiga" or "Atari". There are a lot of games that even have the same data files for multiple ports (like DOS and Windows for some Sierra games, and DOS and Atari for some Coktel Vision games) and the original executable files behaves differently depending on the platform.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyInteresting asterisk on the systems supported. It supports MacOS, but only "10.14 or older". I've never seen that before; I wonder why.

Quoting: BeamboomSo what genre is technically simpler? Text based adventures?
What's simpler, writing a fantasy story or a biography?
What's simpler, painting a still or a nude?
What's simpler, playing in a jazz band or a metal band?
