Pillars Of Eternity: The White March Part Two Launches In January 2016

That's good to know. :)

Since they're going the Baldur's Gate route of adding the expansions into the main game, I'm currently waiting for that to come out, so that I can play it all in one go. I had started on playing and got about 30h in (which isn't that far), but then I ran into a bug with the Stronghold and decided to wait for a bugfix. Then the first part of the expansion got announced.

This has been debunked over and over and over again. There were no articles for Zoe's games while she was together with Nathan. In fact, the only two articles that Nathan wrote was one for Kotaku, before he was in a relationship with her [External Link] (and that wasn't even a review) and one for Rock, Paper, Shotgun [External Link], where the game is shortly mentioned. No full review, nothing while they were dating.

No one ever managed to produce any of the alleged review articles Zoe allegedly received by "sleeping around". This is and always has been a character assassination.

Likewise, no one ever managed to produce anything even close to a proof that Anita Sarkeesian is a "manipulative liar". On the flipside, you can't walk five meter into YouTube or Twitter [External Link] before you get clobbered by racist, sexist attacks against her.

And, as opposed to clowns from The Sarkeesian Effect "documentary", her videos are actually of high quality, and show skill in writing concise and to the point. I may not agree with every single point she makes, or I may not know about the one game or the other, but I was never disappointed in seeing one of her videos appear in my YouTube feed.

But, like I said, this has been debunked countless times. It is so. damn. tiring.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyI guess if I'm not with you, I'm against you?
No, but you do have see who is using a group you belong to, you identify with, to justify doing harm. I do not want to stand idly by while someone who purports to speak for me does harm.

That's why I speak out against Richard Dawkins, despite identifying as an atheist. That's why I speak out against fefe, despite him being in similar computer-ish circles than me. That's why I take a hard stand against the crocodiles, despite being one of those geeks who enjoys the odd game or two.

I just have little patience left for people who so blatently throw in arguments that have been debunked so. many. times. That I have debated so. many. times. This whole blunderbuss boiled over a year ago, and by now, I nearly count people who still unreflectingly parrot the "collusion!" line as lost causes.

And yes, what is "doing harm" is subjective. I do have ideologies and biases -- and I'm quite open about them. And there are certainly issues that are important enough for me that I can't "agree to disagree".

My little digression about certain political issues here in Germany was quite overdrawn, yes. It's a thing that's been on my mind a lot lately, considering I live in the middle of it. There is a significant overlap between the crocs and several factions of neo-reactionaries and identitarians; you just have to look at what Breitbart otherwise publishes, for example.

I don't even mean to insult or implicate Nyamiou; I don't know the person enough to judge one way or another. I wanted them to see from what corner they get their arguments from, their views on culture. And I may have gone a bit overboard there.

Quoting: NyamiouVery funny, put it up your ass.
You know, coming back to your earlier post, there are certain people in my country who do claim that the political journals are conspiring to keep the current politicians in power, and to deceive the white German public. They call themselves "PEGIDA", the patriotic Europeans against the Islamification of the Occident.

These are the people that run around crying "Lügenpresse" (lying press). These are the people who talk about the evils of "gender mainstreaming", "white genocide" and the "PC police". These are the people burning refugee homes (this year, 2015, Germany had a burning refugee home every couple of days).

These are the racist, sexist, homophobic undercurrents of the German society, that, for some reason, have been given free reign lately.

And there is a certain overlap between the PEGIDA people and the German part of the crocodile mob, that is, after all, fond of using words like "Jewkesian". Funny, that.

I would also add that
1) Breitbart is an ultra-right-wing smear paper
2) Milo is, likewise, a very unsavoury character
3) The article you quoted is oozing with crocodile excrement

Me, I'm laying part of the blame on two things:
  • Drivers. Graphics card drivers have been known to directly optimize for specific games, even going so far as to monitor the name of the executable file to figure out which game is currently running, and then enabling special hacks. Because the driver devs have observed how the game in question works, they know it won't do anything that these hacks would break. "Have you tried renaming your game to Quake.exe?" (and similar) are common joke replies to performance complains by now.

  • The games have been written with DirectX in mind, and so are optimized for the common DirectX flow. Porters often won't completely rip apart the renderer to restructure everything, only either add an abstraction ontop, or add a shim that makes it look like it's still DirectX to the rest of the game. The general structure will still be in a format more native to DirectX, and this will have performance repercussions.

Torment: Tides Of Numenera Alpha Gameplay, Delayed Until 2016

Well, that was to be expected, considering that they had added a lot of stretch goals, and then Wasteland 2 took longer than they thought it would be. As far as I know, no one who followed the development thought it would really come in 2015 (I myself said, on several occasions, that I expect that it'll be moved to a 2016 release).

So the only thing that does surprise me is that it took them that long to announce the changed release year. And that they are already this far along that they'll release a beta (to which I'll have access, thanks to my backing level) this year; I actually thought that would be moved to 2016 as well.
