Quoting: scaineThis encompasses perfectly why I gave up on Kickstarter years ago. Particularly disappointing given how much I advocated for it in its early days. Absolutely zero accountability from KS.Completely agree about the lack of shits given by Kickstarter. I've slowed down on backing myself, but there are still projects that follow through; a couple recent ones:

From a user perspective, I can't say I have complaints about BackerKit, but - it sure took them long enough! "Slacker backer" has been a thing forever...
NVIDIA 555.42.02 Beta driver out bringing Wayland explicit sync

FWIW, 555.42.02 is in the fedora-multimedia repo. Haven't really messed with it much (I'm still on 39; need to upgrade to 40 for explicit sync support), but I do see that nvidia-settings is still quite limited on Wayland... not that I really use it for anything, but it's an indicator that Wayland isn't quite a first class citizen yet.

I already had half of the games in the bundle, but I like supporting NightDive remasters (and GOL!), even if they have been blowing it on Linux versions lately. Plus, the full bundle is still cheaper than the lowest ever price on Turok 3.
Never heard of PO'ed before, but it certainly looks like it's from the era of bad Doom clones. The 10% discount isn't exactly enticing. :-D

Here you just end up talking to everyone possible, which you probably wouldn't do in other similar RPGs.Apparently we play our games quite differently.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyI assume it refers to Dwarf Fortress; that seems to be a "big name" in the genre.Quoting: Chrisznixa 2d DF-like gameOver the last few years I have been gradually acquiring a pet peeve about the use of acronyms for this kind of thing. The assumption that everyone will get it is generally not accurate (e.g. I have no idea what DF is here).
Valheim: Ashlands is out now with a supremely cool animated trailer

I agree that the animated trailer looks cool, but I'm not sure what the point of it is? The gameplay trailer is more representative of the actual game, right? Are there animation sequences similar to the animated trailer in the game at all?
Zelda: Majora's Mask gets a PC port with a new open source tool for Nintendo 64 games

Quoting: Mountain ManLooks like it's actually available to buy on Amazon, but at "collectible" pricing. Not exactly suitable for casual interest. Wouldn't it be grand if Nintendo officially cooperated with these projects, and sold digital ROM images? They probably think "that makes it easy to pirate" but there's plenty of evidence that piracy becomes largely irrelevant once there is a good, legal service available (Steam, Netflix, Spotify, etc.).It of course doesn't supply the assets needed to play the game, you need to buy a copy of Majora's Mask yourself.Right, "buy". ((nudge nudge wink wink))
With a Nintendo Switch 2 on the way, I hope Valve make a Steam Deck 2

Quoting: R3BiRtHthe seemingly intented purpose for the device to be the standard "lowest common denominator" target for developers to make sure their games are ready to be supported for handheld gaming PC's.Does anyone actually view it that way? It sure seems superior in many ways to most of the competition.
