I have the Loki Quake3 tin box around here somewhere, and I'm pretty sure I have the Unreal Tournament box as well... but I'm pretty sure the Linux version was in the standard retail box for that one? Or maybe that was just UT2003 and UT2004:

Yep, they closed out my refund request with a "here's the help link for Steam." Doesn't do me any good when I bought the Steam key on a third-party store (probably Humble or Bundle Stars, but I don't remember any more?).

There have been a few that never even bothered with the promised Linux version after the Windows version tanked (no big loss in those cases, I guess).

Still, I wish them the best - I found the concept interesting enough to back it way back when, after all, and they did have a Linux demo at some point.

Silly me, I thought the "Classic" plan still meant you get all the games; claimed 10 before I realized there were more than the limit this time! At least I wasn't disappointed with what I left out, although I might have been more careful if I had been paying attention.

They label the base game that way now, but it's not the bundle. You still have to upgrade to get the rest.

Yes, they still are (mostly) Steam keys. Sometimes there is also a DRM-free download also, and if the game isn't on Steam at all it's usually a DRM-free download (with occasional exceptions that are well noted, like Overwatch).
