Quoting: Joeyboots80I love Adventure games

Daedalic has been providing a fairly steady stream of great adventure games, gotta love it.

Quoting: DuncThe trouble I have with open-source games is that I never make my system partition big enough to install them with the package manager. All my usual applications and their requisite libraries are fine, but a big lump of game resources? Forget it.

symlinks to the rescue?

Quoting: qptain NemoI don't believe there is any other Westwood game on Steam at the moment.

I guess they have been gone too long; us old farts are showing our age. :)

Eye of the Beholder series (early dungeon crawler), Dune II (early RTS before Warcraft), Kyrandia series (adventures in the vein of Daedalic), Command & Conquer series (I think most people know these, at least), Blade Runner (I deigned to have Windows 95 on a Jaz drive just to play this - wouldn't infect my hard drive!).

Yet another great studio murdered by EA.

Quoting: qptain NemoVery nice of them to actually attribute Westwood studios as the developer on Steam.

They made some great classics; doesn't look like they are attributed with much on Steam, though:

Quoting: rkfgdevs have to learn to set realistic deadlines on KS.

I was quite surprised that KingArt met their deadlines so well (Battle Worlds Kronos, Book of Unwritten Tales 2, etc.), as it is indeed quite rare.

Quoting: FeistCool! I just bought "Phantasmagoria" on GOGs winter sale

Never played the second one, but the first game was excellent! That and Gabriel Knight II were two of the best FMV games, along with the Tex Murphy series.

Quoting: TheRiddickMS has paid allot of money into developers to do DX12, that is why it often gets support first.

The bribe money is drying up, or it's not a big enough carrot:

Quoting: marcelomendesShroud of the Avatar is unplayable and buggy.

Been a few months since I played it, but it was working pretty well for quite a while, at least back when they had the monthly quests for new hats. Has it gotten less stable with their recent optimization efforts?

Quoting: qptain NemoIf you're into story-driven stuff, The Detail is a very neat solid crime thriller.
I already had a look at it today but was held back from the negative reviews saying it lacks in choices making a difference.

To each their own, but playing through the first episode didn't make me want to play through the rest.

Quoting: stretch611Buying it a month at a time when there is a good headliner may work out.

That's what I do... I always pause the subscription if the "early unlock" games aren't on Linux / to my fancy.
