Lacking nostalgia for the originals, nothing jumps out at me; I guess you are in the same boat.
I have played some brilliant asteroid clones over the years, including one two player that I forget the name of. Unfortunately the original game with original graphics does not quite live up to my memories.

Does Arch include all the Arch spins/derivitives, other than manjaro?

Just surprised to see Arch with twice the user count of Ubuntu. Guess the Linux market has moved on.

So LMDE beat Linux Mint official release in making Pipewire default.

They cannot decide which is their leading Distro here. The Ubuntu distro, or the Debian one.

Capcom Arcade Stadium is now Steam Deck verified.

1942 and Commando can both be stretched to fill up the screen. Almost makes it feel like you are playing on the C64.

Think some of the sequels to 1942 can be played this way.

Have also been enjoying Skyforce and Skyforce Reloaded. Both vertical shooters.

So I have a wide screen monitor and my gaming experience gets reduced to a narrow vertical bar up the centre. If you can let me stretch the horizontal axis I am in. I grew up with the C64 version of 1942 and that is how I like my vertical scrollers.

Unfortunately not enough in this category on Linux or anything else.

Dwarf Fortress Adventure Mode to be more approachable for new players
31 Jan 2024 at 2:49 am UTC Likes: 2

In the original there's three modes Peasant, Hero, and Demigod and they're going to tweak them so that the "Demigod" mode gives players more instructions and ongoing help - more like a tutorial mode.
Was that tutorial mode going to be built into Demigod mode, or peasant mode?

Adding it to Demigod mode seems a little counter productive.

Might have to give this another go. When I first tried this game I could not work out how to navigate the menus for gardening plots and food production. Was able to get into many money making endeavours, but rich and starving did not work for too long.

So, Elite Dangerous, Project Cars 2 and Project Cars 3 all now playable on Steam Linux and Steam Deck..

Cool!

Now if Steam Linux would not insist on swapping my X button and Square button on my Astro C40 controller I would be happy.

Steam probably got in discussion with EB Games months ago. And EB Games are deadlocked on terms and conditions that are not acceptable to Valve.

Would not surprise me.
