Budgie 10.8 desktop released with plenty of new features

I like the simple interface that is a bit more contemporary then gnome and a bit more modern then Xfce.

Also get decent defaults for the theme for dark mode on a fresh install, unlike KDE. :)

Was very light on resources when I tried it on Solus, but not sure how this compares with Xfce.

If they make the switch to Elementary then it should run even better on old hardware. Could be interesting

83 of the top 100 most played Steam games work on Steam Deck

I thought people had been saying that Gary’s Mod was never going to be playable on Linux.

Guess that prediction was selling Valve short.

Still hoping that Elite Dangerous will get some work to make it Steam Deck compatible.

I detect a theme here. Seems to me you are insistent on claiming your existence.

Maybe the Zombie’s should be diving for cover out of fear of the barrage of bullets
Just to prove they are intelligent. We can even dress them soldier uniform.

Question?

If MicroProse gets brought back from the dead, by another company
are they still MicroProse?

Or are they just another company posing as MicroPose,
waving the MicroPose banner to capture a loyal fan base,
and maybe, or maybe not getting access to past IP.

A meaningless flapping in the wind..

Is it just a name change that means nothing? Marketing?

Cannot see how Donkey Kong would have been improved by zombies.. :)
ain't you in for a surprise

The next edition of Tower Toppler, now with extra zombies.

Always felt like Tower Toppler would feel better if the mechanics and sound were brought closer to the Commodore 64 version of Nebulus. While dodging zombies might be cool, I feel that this would be taking the game in the opposite direction.

But sure if any programmers out there want to add zombies to Tower Toppler I put my hand in to evaluate it, and compare it to the original C64 game.

Tower Toppler cross with Dark Castle anyone?
Even though I am in the US, the fun thing about the 16bit era was all the European versions of games... so I always knew Tower Toppler as Nebulus! They had cooler names...
Nebulus french meaning seems to be flotation device of some kind.
Anyone speak French?

If each Tower is floating above the water then there has to be more weight under the water then above.
Submarine to undersea entrance of each tower, get past the zombies underwater before you make it to tower above sea.

There was more than one tower in the C64 game.

I think I am over thinking this.. :)

Sandtrix is Tetris with sand - delightful, free and renamed after a DMCA

So they must have people constantly looking around for anything resembling Tetris to strike.
They do! They're very protective of their trademarks - though I'm not sure how they've gotten one on Korobeiniki [External Link], unless it applies to a specific modern-day arrangement that they own?

As soon as I saw the article, I was instantly reminded of a very old homebrew Tetris clone that was originally called Tetanus, but then ended up being renamed to "Lockjaw [External Link]".

Anyway, I'm glad that this has had more attention drawn to it as a result of the legal stuff - I quite like Tetris and fun clones thereof, and will have to take a look at this one.
Yeah, We need more Tetris clones.

Kind of wish Tetris Holdings would get off their bottoms and release some Tetris Clones themselves, either that, or new content.

Sick of people sitting on their trademarks and doing nothing with them, other then a few retro titles that feel like they have been created in Flash or Java.

Looking at you Taito

Was a Tetris Clone called Falling Up that flipped the axis on you in the middle of the game. Was kinda cool.. :)

What Atari classics do we want to see remastered?

The last decent Asteroid’s game I saw was the one released by Ambrosia Software, that was later open sourced.

And there was a two player variation I seem to remember having a lot of fun with on the PC, cannot remember the name as it was released about the time when Worms and Worms Reloaded were still very popular, so probably ancient.
