Seems the Valve Steam Deck has been impressing people with some hands-on time

He's actually excited about having Linux in the Deck and didn't even explicitly say no when asked about having Linux show in LLT. As long as he doesn't have to host it though as he's by no means Linux expert.
I think people might be tempted to ask about installing Windows as Valve has stated that Deck is not locked device and you can install whatever you want on it. Thus people get curious about those things.

Quoting: mylkai dont like the dude form Adam Savage’s TestedLuckily Linus from LLT is the more Linux positive one. LLT has more subscribers than Tested.
he just asks about windows.... he does not seem like he will use linux very long on the deck

So I would suppose Linus is more interested in seeing what Steam Deck can do before trying to install Windows on it. Which might mean that when LLT gets their own unit, there might be more Linux content on the channel than usual.

Quoting: jrtI was very positively surprised by the LTT video. He didn't mention "installing Windows" or the current anticheat situation.LLT have been covering Linux few times already in their videos, they're just not Linux gaming channel as such. Far from it.
I think it's great that we are at a point where people can be hyped about a Desktop Linux device without a constant "but it would be better with windows".

Everspace was fun until I found some ancient ruins. I killed tough enemy there which in turn exploded as black hole (if I remember correctly). I didn't play many times after that.
Though to be fair, whole scenario in Everspace is typical for rogue-lites :)

PulseAudio 15.0 rolls out with new features and hardware support
3 Aug 2021 at 10:28 pm UTC
Though after I switching properly I managed to get some use out of Pulseaudio features, like having voice chat in headset and presentation in speakers.
I might still have to use ALSA a bit as recording was wonky (at least with Ardour) with Pulseaudio. Also loopback latency was horrible.
I have since then switched computer and did fresh Gentoo install, so maybe things could be different. Or more likely I need to recompile kernel, because I have forgotten something...

Quoting: BeamboomI avoided it for that and mostly because my ALSA setup was good enough. Main advertised feature was soundcard multiplexing and I already had that configured in ALSA. At some point there was game that didn't know how to use ALSA, so I did setup that started up Pulseaudio if something requested it and stopped it if all the users of it were gone. I ran things quite a while with that setup until I finally made full switch to Pulseaudio.Quoting: wvstolzingYeah me too; I suppose it's bad rap from the early daysIt must be answer. And, it was a bit wonky, it's true, but that's like ages ago!

Iron Gate tease more of what's coming to Valheim in Hearth & Home

Relative frequent updates would be good as it's nice to see Linux native games in currently most played games in Steam statistics.

Quoting: KeyrockMistlands at least is their next priority item after Hearth & Home is released. Originally there were going to be two content updates before that.Quoting: The_AquabatWhen they will release a new biome? it would be cool if this year we have a new biome and new weapons like flametal ore or something.I would be shocked if we got a new biome this year, that takes a ton of work and Coffee Stain have admitted in the past that Valheim's staggering success had overwhelmed them.

Half-Life 2: Remastered Collection coming from the team behind Half-Life 2: Update

Immortal Redneck for example has handcrafted rooms. Which is great for a while, but as it's rogue-lite you get to see same rooms quite many times.

Quoting: subThose plenty sandbox games with procedurally generated (infinite) levels or size
are just not my cup of tea
Quoting: BielFPsI second that. For me procedural generated content is usually just a fancy copy & paste content, It's good in some cases but I rather have a handmade environment because it feels more immersive, specially combined with a good in game lore.It seems to be hard to get right in FPS games even without trying to procedurally generate lore and story. It's tool that has to be used wisely. If it doesn't serve the gameplay, it's not worth the effort. Getting it right is not easy as totally random generation might yield something unique, but unplayable. Using handcrafted building blocks makes things easier, but then level generation has less room to be creative.

It's bit of a shame that it might make people quit the game as the coolest things are introduced after that. Pace literally gets faster in the chapter after Route Kanal.

Quoting: CatKillerIt has some pacing issues. The sewer chapter (also known as Route Kanal) at the beginning of the game is way too long (I think developers even admitted to that somewhere). It's trying to keep things interesting, but if you don't know what you're doing, you'll get confused multiple times and it might take hours to complete the chapter. For people who are still somehow yet to play through Half-Life 2 and the episodes, perhaps this Half-Life 2: Remastered Collection might end up being the best way.I haven't. I loved the first one to bits, but I never got very far in the second one. I gave it a shot a couple of times, but I just couldn't get into a groove with it.

Bit of a shame that native ones are available only in full bundle. Could try Luck be a Landlord demo though.

I remember that before GamingOnLinux, there wasn't much. I think I browsed Linux Game Tome now and then, but was pretty much it.
GamingOnLinux has been clearly filling a void and while there's now some some competition out there, GamingOnLinux is putting more effort into the content and it really shows.

Quoting: MakiNote that the original games and the enhanced are also listed as Windows only on Steam. Excepting System Shock 2 which also has Mac support. So I'm not expecting a Linux release unless it's made abundantly clear by them that they're working on it.System Shock 2 used to be officially supported, though it was just a Wine wrapper. It didn't matter though as game worked.
