Valve in it for the 'long haul' with Artifact, first update out and a progression system due soon

Quoting: CreakAn MP3 can be owned and copied indefinitely and without loss so, in this case, scarcity and property isn't really valuable. But in the case of a virtual card, you can't actually copy them (the devs can, but you can't), which makes it scarce and, in turn, a bit more your own when you have it.
To be fair, scarcity works in the same way with physical cards, the cost per unit is the same for every and each card, but what makes them more or less valuable is how many of them the copyright owner decided to print.

About Artifact, I think that the issue may be the release platform. If this game was released on Android or iOS, it would definitely got a better reception/market.

Some thoughts on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s Danger Zone, the new Battle Royale mode

I agree with most of the impressions, Liam. But I completely disagree with ammo shortage. In my opinion, if they allow more ammunition the current Danger Zone can become a shooting range, with people just moving to the highest point of the map and start snipping everything that moves.

I really like the idea of having low ammunition and have think twice before starting an attack. This is probably one of the reasons why CSGO pro players doesn't shine on this mode.

Quoting: liamdaweThe drone system is boring? What makes you say that? It makes the gameplay incredibly dynamic.
I haven't played any BR games, but I expected that players must always be on the run, searching for better stuff and weapons. Here, you just collect money, order lame pistols and SMGs, sit and wait for a drone. Lack of ammo doesn't sound appealing too. I was spectating a couple of matches after I died, and the remaining two players just did nothing but sitting on the same spot and looking at their tablets until the shrinking area forces them to move.
The drone follows your position, so you don't have to statically wait in the position you ordered the stuff to get them. Of course, running away from a drone you ordered is kinda dangerous, as it works like a big probe that shows your position.

I really like the mechanics of the drone, and more the idea of low ammo. With the latter, it makes you count each shot you make and also decide if your position is good enough before attacking another player (e.g. if you're far away and only have 9 bullets, it's better to save and move on/find a better position).

Quoting: gojulDunno why they decided to port a game that already works w/ proton. They'd better go for shadow of mordor 2...
Remember that Proton doesn't works on OSX yet, we aren't they only market they point towards.

So many changes in just one year. Definitely this has been one of the best years for Linux gaming with Mesa libs.

First time I play and winner winner chicken dinner!

It's weird that there are only 16 players in such a big map. Also, I detected some fps drop in some areas (playing with max settings). Anyway, I think it will be more fun with friends... maybe it's time for a Tuxedo Team?

Quoting: Alm888Now, for the second part: in fact, GOG does have regional pricing which most of the time is the same as on Steam™.
No, most of the time it's not. Mostly because Steam sets prices in local currency, while GOG keeps everything in USD.
Well, now, this is simply a lie.
GOG neither keeps everything in USD (value-wise) nor enforces USD as a currency.
Sorry, it's not. Do the same test for any country of latin america... For third world countries, the Steam store is hundred of miles away from GoG.

I personally don't "install stores" :) I buy only DRM-free games, so yes that mean standalone installation.
Yes, but even GoG now force you to have their if you want to play on multiplayer some games. Not to mention the bad support that GoG has give to Linux gaming...

Quoting: x_wingPeople will really piss off for having such a huge number of stores in order to have their games. All this stupidity will just benefit console gaming in the end...
Number of stores is not a problem (or do you prefer oligopoly?), as long as they won't start pushing the sick exclusives approach.
