I see more potential gains in frame interpolation on mobile games, as if you can halve the power requirements, you halve the heat. And in such a small device every little bit helps. Touch screens are already terrible with latency, so I don't think this degradation will be noticeable.
If the frame interpolation can do some kind of async reprojection like with VR games, but for non-VR games, it will really help a lot, even at lower framerates. It doesn't sound like they are doing that, as they talk about about preferring 60 fps. Probably they are doing something closer to what TV's have been doing for the last decade (and that looks very weird to me).
Still, FSR has been quite a leap in performance on lower end systems already, here's to hoping there's more to come

I think a discussion about things that happened "long ago" will just bring out the old people like me and we just can't resist talking of the "good old days".
Although not necessarily good, I think we were just less old and had more free time.
Or maybe we expected less from our computers.
I mean it was the era of having turbo buttons that slows down your PC, or just hard-resetting your PC multiple times a day because it randomly hung again.
Or opening up your crappy old VGA monitor that was getting too dark, so you could up the voltage on the tube so you could actually SEE stuff again. And then being surprised that the monitor caught on fire a month later...

Plasma 5.27 Beta live with Flatpak settings, multi-monitor upgrade, SteamOS updater

This is probably one of the big reasons I ended up setting onto KDE/Plasma.
This change adds the ability to customize the zones, and change between presets, which makes it much more useful for, e.g. ultra-wide monitors.
Wonder if I can set up zones on a per-monitor basis? Then you could treat tall/wide monitors differently in one session...

Quoting: mr-victoryThis time KDE stole from Microsoft, the new tiling feature is probably inspired by Win11's corresponding feature. (was it called snapping?) But they didn't just copy pasta but slightly improved it.Don't think so, KDE/Plasma had snapping of windows for a decade. I can't remember if 3 did, but 4 definitely did.

Quoting: ShabbyXHibernate would be slower than just adding a few seconds though, why not recharge the deck every few days if you don't play it (but somehow left it in the middle of a game you didn't want to quit)? It's the whole mental load thing for me. I have so many things to keep track of, keeping track of one less thing is just plain amazing.
Building a Retro Linux Gaming Computer - Part 19: SiNsational

Yeah, SiN was probably the most troublesome Linux port I ever had. Well done on getting it to run an complete it!
It really was a game that had hints of greatness, but was a bit confused by itself.

A Linux targeted notebook with Coreboot and a 16:10 display and no Nvidia...
This looks like a great fit for me!
I'm getting tired fighting bios bugs with my current MSI notebook.
Will look at it again early next year when available.
