What are they using as window management library? GTK? KDE? X11? Is it a part of the Chromium package, or have they only used the browser engine and then built the application around that?

Quoting: gojulI stopped at the tutorial. Try to play it with an AZERTY keyboard and you'll understand. WASD on that kind of keyboard is not exactly convenient, and there's no way to remap the keys as of now. Sooo... waiting until a newer patch.
I'm a Dvorak user and I just switch to qwerty before starting a game.
Sure it's annoying if you would type a lot, but I've never played a single-player game where typing is much more than giving a city a name, and I can do that in qwerty.

With a rewritten rendering engine that gives Vulkan support, X-Plane 11.50 is out now

Interesting! I've seen many comments (from the developers I think) that the graphics engine really isn't their main bottleneck, but more or less "everything else". But another native Vulkan-based engine is always welcome!

I'm looking forward to tests of it on Phoronix (or other sites).

Vulkan is already implemented on Mac OS via Metal, using the layer that comes with the VulkanAPI installer.
At work, we run the same Vulkan code on both Windows and iOS, without issues.

Since it uses modern SDL, does that mean it can run natively on Wayland?

Bought it for Ashes, even though it's not here yet! Have most of the other games, including Civ VI, but still bought the full bundle :)

Awesome! I was surprised by how poor the performance was with Vulkan before, but they were working against a moving target when they did the first version so it is understandable that the performance might be sub-par because of that. Hopefully this makes a big difference! Looking forward to seeing benchmarks, since I've already finished the game :)
Might try it out a little though!

Quoting: ShmerlWhere are their bugs filed to Mesa? If they are having Vulkan issues (rather than engine issues), they should file bugs, how would anyone know about that otherwise to address them?
I agree, it would be great if Stardock would cooperate with the Mesa developers, and join forces to benchmark both Mesa and the engine, to find the bottlenecks and improve on them. It would probably be a good idea to do this sooner than later, long before the game is in a "finished state", to decrease the cost for the Stardock developers to port the game to Linux.
