23 Sep 2013 at 2:19 pm UTC

Quoting: owen123That good but i afraid it the other way for ATI users like me.  I actually get higher FPS in Windows than on Linux. I know it not just me because my friends who also uses ATI have higher FPS in windows than on Linux.
Oh well what do I expect from crap ATI linux drivers.
ATI drivers are crap.. that's way i am going to buy Nvidia. AMD is just a joke

Steam's August Hardware Survey, Linux Dips Below 1%
2 Sep 2013 at 7:31 pm UTC

Quoting: godlikeOne of the reasons Linux gaming is not going forward is that hardcore gamers will never be satisfied with the type of games currently on Linux. People want to see FPS and RPGs but all we have is countless indies with 2D simplified graphics. I have to admit that good graphics don't mean good games but not all people are sentimental, not everyone started playing games on the 80s and not everyone is attracted to simplicity.

Don't want to sound ungrateful, indies are nice to have and the driving force of Linux gaming but they are not enough to attract the hardcore gamer.

PS: I am using steam linux since the beginning and this survey never popped up.
Serious Sam 3 :BFE, Brutal Legend, Legend of Grimrock, Crusaders Kings 2, Europa Universalis IV, Portal ( Portal 2 coming), Left 4 Dead 2, Killing Floor, The Cave, CS: Source, DOTA 2, Team Fortress 2, Eurotruck Simulator 2 ( beta), Natural Selection 2, Trine 2, Metro: Last Light coming, Cities in motion coming, Wasteland 2 coming, Amnesia: Machine for pigs, Tropico 5 is coming, X3 is on Linux, Wargame is on Linux, Football Manager 2014. Of course, that's not so much compared to Windows..but just remember when Linux client came out :).....   there is already a bunch of really good looking games on Linux.. and i hope in the future there will be more of them

Steam's August Hardware Survey, Linux Dips Below 1%
2 Sep 2013 at 12:11 pm UTC

Quoting: toorlol pathetic numbers, we can be really thankfull they keep supporting the plateform with such numbers. And hope their linux-based console will have success, otherwise … doubt the "seconde age of linux gaming" will carry on. Still so low numbers after dota 2, natural selection 2, counter strike, half life, team fortress, and even more. People just don't care about which OS they use, they want things to be done and that's it. Windows already installed when they buy a machine, why would they switch to another OS, plus they are used to it. Nahh those numbers just won't go up unless there is something really huge happening
That numbers are not corrent... you can find everywhere on the internet, that this survey just doesn't show up... More important are numbers of buys. Maybe Liam could ask some developers ( Paradox, Valve etc.) for more details about Linux numbers..

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs Gameplay

Quoting: sobkasPewdiepie, his unfunny rape jokes, game exploitation and less then ethical use of the bro army make him for me less than desirable here. Promoting his content is not what I would except.

What game developers have to say?
Let's look:

You can support game devs or pewdiepie, but not both.
e: Apparently he taken down his pre-release lp of next Amnesia.
No, he didn't he only unlisted it. Pewdiepie does what Pewdiepie do.
I can accept someone's other opininion, but I hate, when someone is lying. I am mature for a while, and yes, I watch Pewdiepie, because it's just chill for me to watch some videos. But let me tell you something. Yes, he made rape jokes like " stop raping me, are you raping here, can i join, iĺ rape you" and so and you know what? He apologized for them in his vlog. He said, that he didn't do it to offend someone or something. also you are living in filthy world, you are on the internet where you can find everything bad thing, probably you are watching  18+ videos on internet, where they are having sexual intercourse for money, without feelings, with other guys, a lot of times without protection ( i am not angry christian, just trying to make a pont) and you are bit*ing about few rape jokes he apologized for them??. And if you think, that all his 1400 + videos are about rape jokes, you are just wrong. Exploitation? Man, he does game lets plays and he has fans for that, he has views for that.. i can't understand what you wanted to say with that. Less ethical use of bro army. aka his fans? He did charities!! He did charities, he donated to them on his own ( in last one- 10 000 usd) his fans helped to donate to charities, in his videos he is talking about tolerance and helping to each other, because people have got problems and not everybody is lucky to have good life, he is helping to other users whose create graphic, music, or animation.. he is promoting them.. and you are talking about ethics? What did you do for others?...you are just hating someone on the internet, so... be honest to yourself.. About comments of his fans, he said many times, that he doesn't want them to react like that on the internet, or in the other channels, because.. it's just stupid. But hey, he has 12 millions fans...what would you expect? That everybody is mature like you? And about that Amnesia's footage. He has agreement with Frictional games about publishing videos, that's why he released that video. When he discovered, that ChineseRoom are not so happy about it, he put that video down.. I am not taking that from you, yes.. you can hate him or something, but don't talk bullsh*t...
