Eastshade, an absolutely gorgeous looking adventure game about a travelling painter will come to Linux

I'm looking forward to this. I was looking forward to Leaving Lyndow too, but didn't end up playing it since it never came to Linux. I'm glad that they're considering Linux this time. Thanks for the info. This one wasn't on my radar yet.

It took them a long time, but GOG now have Tiny and Big: Grandpa's Leftovers for Linux

I played this years ago on Steam. I highly recommend it. It's a bit short, but the physics are really fun and the art style & characters are really enjoyable. I'm glad to see that they polished it. The textures seem to be better and multi-monitor support was an issue when I played it, so I'm glad they fixed that.

GOG release a bunch of SNK NEO GEO classics, all with Linux support

I wish they'd give Windjammers this treatment, but I doubt they will given the Playstation remaster that just came out. They want to milk that version for $$$ and probably won't take the time to port that to Linux.

Quoting: g000hNot signing up for an account - well, it's up to you, but I like getting my hands on these various offers (and some of them are DRM Free, e.g. this Outlast has Steam keys and DRM free downloads)
No, you cannot get it for free as DRM-free Download. I tried to 'buy' it (I do have a Humble account), but it leads to a page that says that I have to link my Steam account to the Humble Account.

Looking at the FAQ this seems to be the case for any free game.

I find that quite a disrespect of DRM-free users, and for me this makes Humble lose all the bonus points they got with their last 'Very Positive Bundle 2' :(
You do get a DRM-free download, at least in this case. I "bought" this free package and have both Steam keys and DRM downloads in my Humble library now. Unfortunately, there's no DRM-free download of the DLC for Mac or Linux. There is a DRM-free download of the DLC for Windows, so maybe you can bug the developer to upload the Linux version too.

Thanks! I must have missed when this was originally brought to Linux. I thought it was Windows only.

The Journey Down: Chapter Three has officially launched to conclude the series

These are really great games. I think I enjoyed the third part most of all. Full disclosure: I helped test both chapter 2 and 3 for Linux

Quoting: DrMcCoyParts 1 and 2 are also on Humble, but part 3 isn't (yet?).
I imagine they will soon. I sent the developer an email letting them know some people here are looking for availability on Humble.

Yes, Asia is becoming huge for Steam. The developer of Defender's Quest tweeted about their worldwide sales during the Steam sale [External Link]. China is close behind the US in revenue and higher in total number of units sold.

Machinarium updated to remove Flash, new Linux build is planned too

Quoting: CybolicGreat news, but as everyone has already said, the choice of DirectX is really, really odd. They already know they are going to port it to non-DirectX systems and it's a game very suited for mobile - I really can't find any sense in picking DirectX over OpenGL :/
They've stuck with flash for a REALLY long time. I get the feeling that the tech they use is whatever their programmers happen to know well. They probably found someone that knows DirectX, so that's what they picked. Mac, Linux and mobile will be something they'll deal with "later".

Very cool news. I was hoping to introduce my kids to Amanita Design's games sometime this year, but was dreading the whole flash aspect of getting them running.
