Quoting: KuromiAnyway, i still like it, but it would be better if mystery would be either even thicker or explained better.
I know this is an old thread, but I picked this game up in the Xmas sale and really enjoyed it. People have a valid point about the story being vague. It really helps to track down the background pdf that explains the universe. 48 pages and worth reading if you like the game at all.

The closest experience for me was wandering around in Fallout 3 or New Vegas where you only occasionally meet enemies. The world-building and atmosphere were something I really liked. Not for action junkies, though.

I hope they make more in this universe.

Quoting: scaineThat i like is certain mystery and exploration parts. I like these tranquil silent fields. I like these ancient derelicts.
I agree!
Not so old thread, actually. Yes, reading lorebook is must have to understand whats going on. Also, i very very strongly recommend you to track down and scan that orange "spheres" - they not only increase you power output (necessary for heavier guns and stuff) but also drop some light on thats going on. While many of memos stored in those things is not very usefull (just add to atmosphere ) closer to end there is finally bunch of memos giving real info on thats going here. Also, hint -"others" = "aliens".

BTW, as far as i know lorebook was wrote by professional sci-fi author.

Also, as i said before (and even as Steam hints) - if you like this game you may want to try 3079\3089\5089 game, its quite similar in gameplay (not in term of plot)

Quoting: starfarerThis game is awesome. First I was reluctant to buy it because I didn't think it's on Linux but after I read that it is on this website I grabbed it (and I watched the WTF by TotalBiscuit).

It's really good. I didn't know I'd enjoy it so much because I don't normally play platformer-brawlers (the excellent Dust was one of a few exceptions) and match-three games. This game does it very well.

The only complaint that I have, and this is what TotalBiscuit also said, is that some of the art seems a little bit unfinished. As if they didn't complete the drawing. But this is such a minor thing that it doesn't matter and that it should not deter anyone from getting and playing this. Trust me, it is absolutely worth it.

I'm also really happy that I can play it on my T530 with only an Intel HD 4000.

The only thing I want is more content. More story content, that is. Unfortunately there is no replay value but I'd really welcome some more DLC. Luckily there are daily Cook-off challenges so that is something.
Actually it was released without Linux support, but it was added soon after release.

2D horror 'Corpse Party' is now available for Linux on GOG, some thoughts

Quoting: RanceJusticeThis is a rare Japanese developed title on Linux. I should mention that I was encouraged to seek out this title because one of the developers porting it was also active on the "Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky" Steam forum - she posted under the name "Sara". http://steamcommunity.com/app/251150/discussions/0/38596748000905456/ [External Link] On this thread requesting Linux support, Sara was very attentive and forthcoming with why some of the older titles would be unlikely to receive a Linux port, but mentioned Corpse Party as one that was coming to Linux because of the porters' interest in doing so.

This kind of honest developer feedback for Linux users is another great reason to support Corpse Party. Likewise as she mentions, showing interest from the Linux community is important especially in Japan where Linux is less likely to be on the PC game dev radar; many companies are new to PC gaming as a whole, having developed near exclusively for console in the past.

In any event if you want a well regarded spooky, indie, pixel art gem try out Corpse Party! You'll be supporting the kind of porting staff that are very friendly to the Linux community too!
Its so sad Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky will not have Linux support. :(

BTW, Corpse Party is 35% off on GOG right now.

Good they still working on this game. Gotta check on Humble Library for update.
Last time i played it, though, i found game to be quite unbalanced and overloaded with micromanagement. It (was) kinda hard to build stable production chains and constantly i had either lack of some stuff or excess of others. But, overall, it was very nice game to play.

P.S. They already uploaded update to humble. nice!

Quoting: DaiKaiser93Well, that was quick..
Yes, thats another indication, that port release is controlled, at least in some cases, mostly by developer. If one have no question about giving it to GOG we see it (Corpse party, Signal from Tolva) in matter of days, if not...well. For example Coma is still missing (and that about very recent ports), but still GOG is rather impressive lately.
