Even so, what kind of support does Valve provide, what kind of support do the proton devs provide and what kind of support do the devs provide?

Considering that support cost is usually cited as the main reason against a Linux build those are important, and as far as I know, unanswered questions.

It was like "We accept the GOG users's money but sorry you'll not have our respect." :|
Snolus is a good guy, and I agree with Kimyrielle.

Also this link [External Link] speaks for itself.

I don't have Punch Club or Party Hard (but I have Graveyard Keeper), but I count on Linux users to inform the community if they will really update them.

These issues around GOG publishers, missing things, huge delays etc... I'm thinking of just boycotting them now and they won't have my money. Simple as that.
Graveyard keeper was a mess at release but has been updated for Linux pretty much in sync on GOG.

Party Hard I got only a while after release and I think they had EOL'd it by then. As far as I know they had significantly scaled back Twitch integration by that time and whatever was left never worked for me.

That's great! It's always good to hear when good commercial games make it to itch.
If I didn't already own them all on GOG I'd buy them on itch now.
But thanks anyway for making great cross platform games :)

Yeah, if the community manager had proper training he wouldn't have said this. Doesn't mean it's not true.
Party Hard is a great game with absolutely broken Twitch integration and you can't get a sensible response from the devs or publisher regarding that.

Paradox Interactive on Linux support, it's being done on a "case by case basis"

It seems Triumph Studios is one with a lot of "ah...uh"-ing, unfortunately.

Or there are fewer games for Linux released now that SteamPlay is around. Who can say with certainty? Historical data and statistics probably can. Who is going to dig in?

Instabuy as well, glad it came to Linux/GOG.
I've played a fair few hours of (Chapter 8 I think) it already and while it seems simple at first the complexity steadily creeps in as they introduce more characters, cards, effects and synergies.
Some fights can drag a bit and you really have to like the combat system.
Definitely a solid game that can be captivating.
I personally still favor Steamworld Heist though, the bouncing bullet mechanic is just too much fun.

If it is to counteract Stadia... Stadia uses Linux, so they might actually discourage Linux ports since they are one step towards the game running on Stadia?

Quoting: Sir_DiealotThere is a Banner Saga collection I almost bought because they are allegedly good games.
But after reading this I decided against it. https://www.gog.com/forum/the_banner_saga_series/linux_version [External Link]
If I remember correctly those games were made on adobe air which dropped Linux support shortly after the first game was made, so the company was in a no win situation. Never reaching out and explaining that was a poor PR move on their part.

Recently they did go to the trouble of removing their broken and unplayable Linux port from steam so that people could play on proton, so at least linux support was in the back of their minds somewhere. It was a goodwill gesture in any case. link [External Link]

I certainly can't blame you for not buying the games, they are very good though.
They did reply and say it was due to the partner handling the port going bankrupt: https://www.gog.com/forum/the_banner_saga_series/linux_version [External Link]
