Quoting: emphyAs I mentioned before, I am rather disenchanted with those steam deck labels due to the lack of clarity on whose door one is supposed to knock when stuff goes downhill.Well they fixed in less than 12 hours, so... No real complains from me :)
Valve should, at the very least, include an extra category to indicate whether the dev will commit to supporting the deck/proton.

Jesus Christ, did not expect such "AI is not art bunch"... In short, you guys are full of it, and also history will not be on your side. AI art is art, and it very much will not be stopped.
These people ... they can not stop the future. And nobody even needs to find them!As for Valve, sorta understandable, yet extremely disappointing, I hope soon enough that can be changed.

Stars! whatever the interface is f*n gold gem of a game! But sounds like this is not refreshment of that. One of the greatest things in stars was free travel (no stupid ass lanes :) between stars), construct able jump gates (aka ya feel like in Babylon 5) logistics (fuel and resources) that are probably best I have ever seen.

But on Linux you could play it via Rock's and Dimonds for decades probably, so not sure how much this brings to table

Hm, and if somehow it ends up having x86 emulated machines with vulkan while on ARM host... one can only dream of possibilities. Linux on ARM might end up playing more Windows games than Windows on ARM. One can hope :)
I'm now a true convert after using a Vertical Mouse

I'm team thumb trackball, and unlikely to ever switch to anything :) No need to move hand is super good, also now with mx ergo even hand positions is similar to vertical mouse. And I have no problems with precision, play PoE or WarFork with it without issues. Thumb ball ftw!

Well backed it on KS, even without promised Linux, kinda hope they deliver anyway. At least it should work on android. In any case such AR I see as super killer, not at all limited, if it works as advertised, it most likely will be quite a huge deal regardless if it is Linux on day 1 or not.

There is one thing with PC hanhelds, that could mean they are not worse than switch. I also as some commenters played some hanheld games, had PSP, clocked ridiculous number of hours on lumines, or n++. Smallish, easy to get into games, that nevertheless can be super challenging and engaging, I have also played symfony of the night via emulation, as well as R-Type delta, a bit more "conventional"/big name as in you do not end anything in one sitting. Worked great. So old consoles, had plenty of such games, not sure about newer ones, but you know what has loads of such games? PC, pc has loads of indies, most likely most ridiculous assload of portable friendly games, granted not all of them are on steam, but still... My take is that depending on possibly deals valve could do, such steam console could come with strongest opening lineup of any console ever. Granted most of it not exclusives, but still. I think it could be expected that in some backroom deal you get x,y,z indie games come for free with steam pall, and valve just pays for it out of any ones sight. And for user it would be very strong offer, and I'm pretty sure valve has pockets for that.

Looks good. Would love for some deus ex type game in such style (maybe someone will make some mod :D), but even as action shooter looks sweet. Low res stuff can still look great, just look at doom moding scene. Let's just hope Linux version does not evaporate during production :)
How about a nice game of Chess with Lichess

Quoting: WorMzyI wonder how it compares with redhotpawn.com :tongue:While I have not played on the pawn, and only played one test game against bot on lichess, from such cursory look lichess, for me seems way better and serious. It is way faster and sleeker and cleaner, while the pawn one has "traditional" "corpo website look" with some mobile app promotions. And on such point I'm very much with licehs, for such thing as playing chess there is about <0 need for mobile app. :)
