Interesting. I wonder how it will compare to AMD's RDNA 2. We'll finally have two major options for GPUs with open drivers.

NVIDIA GeForce are teasing something for August 31, likely RTX 3000

Quoting: CatKillerIntel have been working on Xe for quite a while now. Actual real-world performance, and how much it's directed towards gaming rather than machine learning, are still to be determined, of course.
Also, Intel have problems with switching to smaller node process in CPUs, which also I assume will affect their GPUs.

Quoting: EhvisAlways waiting for the next card that is several years behind the times, right?
Nvidia's dropping Linux market share is surely not going to start rising until they'll open their drivers. So if you want to complain about something being behind the times, start with Nvidia ;)

Nouveau is there of course for them to support, but they didn't show any interest. Not only that, they still hinder it by not allowing it to work properly.

Quoting: WorMzyI'm going to go out on a limb and guess they aren't going to announce that they're open sourcing their Linux driver and/or co-operating fully with the nouveau developers to make the open source driver feature complete.
I'd say it's very unlikely. But that would be great of course if they did. Their previous announcement about it didn't result in anything.

Looking forward to an upgrade, but not to Nvidia. Waiting for RDNA 2 cards from AMD.

Changing your country on Steam has been made harder to battle VPNs

Using VPN is like traveling to another country, but in virtual sense. If digital stores want to use physical market analogy and segment the market in virtual space, why are they against people using the physical analogy of travel in the same virtual space? Do they charge foreigners more when they come to a physical store in another country? If they do, that would be considered some weird discrimination. So why are they OK with it in virtual case?

I personally don't shop like that, but if something is only available through VPN, I don't see an issue.

Croteam refuse to release their recent games on GOG. So I haven't played any of them anyway.
