Quoting: Sir_DiealotAre you using Proton though? My guess is no. It's probably not that easy to actually use it outside of steam.Proton is too Steam specific, so I'm not using it. I didn't find installing dxvk any harder than various other add-ons that are sometimes needed for Wine configuration. Pretty common thing for Wine users.
DXVK 0.71 is out for Vulkan-based D3D11 and D3D10 in Wine, minor reduction in CPU overhead and more

Great to see that it's being worked on.
GOG are doing a 'Back to School Sale' with plenty of Linux games on sale

Quoting: GuestI wonder if GOG makes stats for Windows games bought on Linux and shares that with the publishers… Or if they just count downloads. They collect stats, but there is no info on what they share.
What are you playing this weekend?

Quoting: GuestThis discussion has been going on for months already, and it will be quite a long time before the working group has a spec ready for it. And it's not even guaranteed it will as I expect at least a few vendors to be against it.Do you mean it has been going for months inside Khronos?
inXile will be 'all hands are on deck' to get the Linux version of The Bard's Tale IV out as soon as possible

Quoting: KetilBy default the proton way of launching the bard's tale trilogy(remastered) with -force-glcore argument minimizes inside a big wine window when I moved my mouse out of the window, which I had trouble restoring again without killing the game. You need to enable Wine's virtual desktop to work around it. It happens both with dxvk and with wined3d.
Quoting: KetilIt is clear that it is a remastered old game, rather than a new one, but it is still quite pretty for what it is.I've never played the originals, but I like the remaster.

Steam gets it earlier, but I'm using GOG version and it's still 1.08.

Stream output is not commonly used for performance heavy features, so I don't really worry as long as it will work to begin with, instead of producing a mess of polygons or invisible surfaces.

Quoting: slaapliedjeThe Bard's Tale remastered is not being done by inXile, and is not a direct code upgrade, they basically had to rewrite the whole thing. It was started by Olde Sküül and then picked up by Krome. inXile were helping. But yes, it's a full rewrite in Unity. They should enable OpenGL renderer in version 1.09 and on (didn't reach GOG yet), so it might be possible to make a native version manually using matching Unity player.
Really hoping for the native port as well, but it does seem to work with Proton.

Quoting: GuestAccording to their issue tracker, and in that context what @YoRHa-2B said, they are working on it (or at least something that can help implementing D3D stream output), and it should be ready in a few months.Quoting: ShmerlWaiting for Khronos to finish transform feedback spec.Assuming they intend to include it at all. Which I'm not sure is the case right now, though I forget the reason. Vulkan has certain ideals, and transform feedback might not be compatible.
