I got the native Linux version from their website already. Hmm... wouldn't be the first game that I buy again, just to have the convenience of the Steam ecosystem
I hope Valve are watching closely with Microsoft working towards an Xbox Handheld

Microsoft does what they always do... being late to the party. And then throwing so much money at it that others can't compete anymore. They don't invent themselves, they let invent and then they buy it or copy it using their huge money montains.
Microsoft is still doing a great job priming people since school to use Windows. Yet there are more people realizing the path Microsoft has chosing with each iteration of their OS is not what they want.
E.g. in our little gaming group I've been the only one playing my games on Linux whenever possible for years. Now we are four people playing on Linux. And I didn't even have to convince them. Microsoft did that for me :woot:
Nevertheless, I do see some danger Will Robinson here. Microsoft can just burry things with their money. They can sit things out.
I've now finally installed bazzite on my ROG Ally, and though it's great, it's not as smooth and pleasant to use as Steam OS is. Now I can understand why Valve needs time to improve Steam OS to work really smooth on other devices.

Nice to see!
I'm also wondering in which regard the EOS EAC variant is different to the old EAC that needs a local dll file. Is that dll now just directly integrated into the game so a seperate file isn't needed anymore? Or does it actually mean cheat detection happens server side? If the latter, did Apex Legends have alread EOS EAC or dll EAC and would that help bringing it back to support Linux again?
We still can only officially support Windows 10 & 11, but nonetheless there might be one barrier less in that aspect.Hm, this make me wonder if this is an indirect innuendo to support Linux? They don't mean Windows 7, 8 or other predecessors, right?

The trailer gave me quite some Crysis vibes.
Story driven FPS? Nice! Coop? Nicer! Maybe Linux support (native, Proton, Deck)? Nicest!
From the past of 4A Games, I have high hopes Reburn will give Linux gamers some love too.

Steam Deck Folio is a slim protective travel cover that doubles up as a stand

Backed. This is a nice addon to the Deck. Just wondering if you keep it attached on the back, if it still doesn't block cooling. But having a stand this slim is really nice. And those slim stands are really rare. Back then I supported the "Tiny Tower Stand", which is not available anymore. Yet I'm still using it after 6 years it got released.
I hope for something long-lasting with the Folio as well.

Implemented a feature that allows low latency display interrupts to be serviced even when the system is under heavy contention.
This is especially useful for reducing stutter when using virtual reality.
This feature is experimental and disabled by default.
This feature can be enabled by loading nvidia.ko with the `NVreg_RegistryDwords=RMIntrLockingMode=1` kernel module parameter. This should mitigate the stutter that was introduced when they enabled the GSP firmware by default with driver 555 when using Steam VR. As the Ubuntu PPA doesn't build beta drivers, I'll have to wait for this to come into the stable release.https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/enabling-gsp-makes-steamvr-unplayable-on-rtx-3090ti/298694/13 [External Link]

I hope for another VR title. HL:A was such a great game for me. Maybe with a Deckard this time?
And if it's VR, hopefully Valve will give Steam VR for Linux some love again. Currently most things do work, yet performance-, stability- and feature-wise it could use some attention. Especially async reprojection on nVidia would be great again since it broke with Steam VR 2.0
I've heard the open source alternatives to SteamVR like monado and the streaming solutions are kind of catching up well and giving good performance (I heard, haven't tried it myself yet). And Valve has supported open source projects in the past, so maybe they'll put some resources into this.

Though it wasn't feasible to do the native Linux version, it's awesome to see they keep Linux through Proton supported.
I haven't touched it in a while either, and it's a great usecase for the MoveMaster! :woot:

Quoting: sonic2kkSince you note "write" does that mean the configuration is written to the unit and it doesn't go through a 3rd party software layer? In other words if I configure it on my PC, will those key configurations carry over to other devices? That would be pretty awesome if so, and sounds like there is potential for the community to have a field day with making its own configuration software too...Correct, the configuration is saved to the device and you can attach it anywhere you want and still have the (last saved) setting active.
Quoting: sonic2kkWhelp, I'm convinced I think. Will try to hold off until payday though :grin:As Liam noticed, a little bit of getting used to it is needed, but once you got it, you don't wanna go back (if currently the 10 keys are not an issue for you, even doubling it with the double tap feature... or get also the extension when available)
