Atari Vault, a 100 classic game collection heading to SteamOS & Linux

I actually really liked E.T.... Once you understood how to actually play, it wasn't bad. I'm not sure what people were expecting for an Atari game at the time... Cinematics and skill trees?

Vagante, a nifty-looking platformer with permadeath, available on Linux

Would be great if this game properly supported fullscreen in GNOME3. This is the only game that shows me the GNOME bar and pushes the game down some. And it doesn't even work with the Steam Controller for some reason. I'm not too happy I bought it.

Kopanito All-Stars Soccer is a colorful sports game available on Linux that looks it's like a blast to play

Isn't this a browser game?

Also, it's not the first soccer game on Linux. http://store.steampowered.com/app/280830/ [External Link] and there might be more.

Eh? You know it works with virtually every game, right?
They were probably referring to the fact Rocket League was "designed for the Steam Controller", so it should come with a default configuration for Steam controllers that works really well with the game out-of-the-box.
That's not even remotely what they said, so how you can infer such details is puzzling.

Regardless, I seriously doubt there will be a nice default configuration. After three months of use, I've found what works best for me, and I've yet to come across one default config that felt right to me - not even those provided by Valve. But that's the genius of the Steam Controller - you can customize it to whatever the hell you want. The controller adapts to you, not you to the controller, and it is fantastic. Letting it collect dust, as the original comment insinuated, is criminal.
The Rocket League ad advertised great support for the Steam Controller, and the game came free if you pre-purchased a Steam Controller or Steam Link (and probably a Machine as well) along with Portal 2, so you're wrong.
Yes, I pre-ordered my Steam Controller and got it on day one, including a code for Rocket League and Portal 2 (which I already owned). The Portal 2 controls are OK, but like I said, they're not THE BEST. I've used the Steam Controller for months now, EVERY DAY, and it's fantastic. But the chances of some random person out there making a default config that *I* will be happy with are pretty slim. Have you even used a Steam Controller? There are a near infinite number of possibilities for configuring and tweaking everything about it, and the chances of someone nailing a config that most people will be happy with are inversely proportional to that. Sure, some might get close, but like I said, I've yet to find one that hasn't needed changes. Just one example, almost every config out there uses the stupid analog stick for movement. That's so 1996, and the trackpad works amazingly - once you get used to it - and it is more versatile and comfortable to use than the analog stick. Same deal with using the face buttons... With a 360-style gamepad, you will probably use the X and A buttons a TON, but they're the LEAST comfortable to reach on a Steam Controller. Just slapping up a config that essentially duplicates a 360 pad with minor changes is NOT ENOUGH. If you had a Steam Controller, you'd know this. It is the gamepad equivalent to overclocking and tweaking and optimizing and recompiling kernels and all that kind of thing.

Agatha Christie - The ABC Murders is coming to SteamOS & Linux

I do not generally pre-order games, but I pre-ordered this one for the discount that ends at launch, and day-one Linux support, and my love of detective/mystery. I hope it is as good as I am thinking it will be!

I played L.A. Noire on PS3 and finished it, and everything about it was a HUGE disappointment. That said, I'd probably buy it if it somehow came to Linux, but I doubt I'd ever actually play it again.

Steam now has over 1800 games available for SteamOS & Linux

You forgot the choose-your-own-adventure books games.
It was just a little joke. But I will never buy one of those black-text-on-white-background "games" and I wish they were separated from the real games. It seems like 50% of the time or more when I see a cool-sounding game title and icon, I click it, only to be greeted by a set of screenshots that all look like a homework assignment.

That being said, Tin Man Games actually make some really good choose-your-own-adventure type game books. I'm not sure if they're all based on pre-existing game books or not, but some definitely are. They're polished, pretty, usually have more to them than just reading (dice rolls, character sheets, etc), and in my experience, actually fun. The fact that I can adjust the text size for play on a TV and comfortably play with a Steam Controller also helps.

But yeah, the hidden object games are another sore spot for me... My annoyance with those popped up in the form of Hiddan Ojbexx Retchro, which you can now find on Itch [External Link], if you're so inclined.

Aspyr has been busy, just not really in the Linux world... Homeworld, The Sims stuff... There was also the CivBE expansion, which was on Linux. But yeah, compared to Feral, the Linux releases have been slow.
