I have a bunch of gamepads, mostly for testing in Godot Engine, but the one I use for gaming is the Logitech F710 in Xinput mode. (The other option is a D, not an O, for DirectInput). I also sometimes use the Logitech F310, which I like the feel of more due to missing battery compartment, but it lacks rumble and I don't really like the tether. I prefer to play games on my TV, and using a keyboard and mouse on a couch is annoying and tacky.

When the Steam Controller ships, I'll be using that.

Ziggurat is a great Unity game, including gamepad support and everything. I dunno which version it uses. But still, doesn't fix the fact that the older games are broken (Among the Sleep is still unplayable for those of us who bought it for the "Full Controller Support" and can't play it with the defacto standard Logitech F710, pictured on the majority of "Steam Big Picture" banners). And of course, still no Linux editor.

For my own games, I use Godot, since it's both open-source and has a Linux editor (in fact, the main devs are Linux users). It'd be nice to start seeing some games release that use it, but it's still very new and documentation needs some work, and the renderer is mobile-focused (great for 2D, though hopefully it will change in the future so 3D games can compete on the visual front).

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare Might Be A Little Present To Unwrap Soon For Linux Gamers

Quoting: tony1abIt was stated that steam counts it as a linux sale if its more played on a linux system, despite in which platform it was bought.
Yeah......during the first week.

You can't buy a game on Windows and then a year down the road start playing it on Linux and have it convert to a Linux sale. The money has already been claimed for Windows. It's too late.

FF1, FF4, and FF6 are the only good FF games (2 , 3 and 5 maybe - I didn't play them on account of the North American release and numbering screwjob). After that, Square ruined the name, as far as I'm concerned.

(Hey, we all have opinions. I didn't expect you to like mine.)

Quoting: ElectricPrismIs anyone using this yet? Is it like Game Maker in any way / shape / form. I would love a good Game prototyping app.
It's more flexible than that. And open-source (MIT license, you can do virtually anything you want with it) and free... No reason to not try it out.

It's come a long way since the first build I have (Jan 3rd). Great things in store for 1.1 as well (awesomely smart code-completion, function syntax tooltips, 2D shaders, some drag-n-drop support, new theme which was delayed for some reason, and more).

A member of the community has a kind of open-source Christmas game jam [External Link] going from now until Jan 2nd. I'm working on a little game for it, and hopefully many others are too.

Speculation: BioShock Infinite Might Be an eON port

Quoting: liamdaweI don't care about the porting technique. I used to until I decided the tech doesn't mater, but performance does. Now that we have first-hand experience with the level of performance expected from ports using eON; I am not expecting much.
We had first-hand experience with Wine-based ports too, even back as far as when Transgaming "ported" Kohan, The Sims, etc. Maybe you didn't use Linux that far back, I don't know, but the ports sucked. And the fact that they "re-ported" Kohan Immortal Sovereigns was a bit of a slap in the face, considering Loki had already ported it and, despite them having gone under, it was still readily available at the time.

Things haven't changed that much when you consider broken crap and rushed jobs like Eador, Braid, etc.

And thus, I will continue to do my best to buy only native games (accidents notwithstanding), where the performance SHOULD be good (if the devs actually do more work than just clicking the "Shit Out Linux Port" button in Unity3D).
