I'm either blind or they don't specify which license the code is under.

Jotun passed the Linux stretch goal and (on Reddit) we were promised to get the Linux release on day one. It passed Greenlight already, too.

Leadwerks Game Engine Now On Steam For Linux

Quoting: BeamboomWhat's unclear to me is what the advantages of this solution are compared to the competitors. Why would a dev choose this over the competitors?
Every engine has a list of pros and cons, and they are all relative to each other. So if you're going to work on games, you should just research and choose the one that should meet your needs best.

For example, Leadwerks has some advantages over Unity in that it costs much less and has an actual Linux editor so you can develop under Linux. But Unity is available for Mac.

When compared to Godot, Leadwerks is not MIT-licensed open-source and free. But Leadwerks supports Lua which, judging by some posts I've seen around the web, is a real problem for some would-be Godot users. From what I can see, Leadwerks doesn't target mobile at all, whereas Godot excels at it, but Leadwerks supports OpenGL 4. Leadwerks doesn't support Mac yet, but Godot does.

When compared to Unreal Engine 4, Leadworks has no royalty on commercial games made with it. UE4 supports Mac, Leadwerks does not.

Those are just a few examples (a couple might be based on old info - I don't really keep up with anything but Godot).

Uh, I accidentally clicked on that "Report Spam" link. Sorry, Izberion...

I Kickstarted this project, so no, it's not weird. It could be really cool to play free-form virtual board games with friends.

Steam Controller May Not Arrive Until Near The End Of The Year

Quoting: Half-Shot
Quoting: WaldirI hope they don't forget that in order for games to be playable from the couch developers also have to adapt their games to work with larger fonts.
You know, that's one thing I have a problem with too. It's all very well having high resolution graphics but I have a slight shortsightedness to my eyes so its not exactly great squinting at the screen to read peoples names, kills or something. Heres hoping valve will fix that, even with the absence of the touch screen which might have fixed it.
Although I agree it needs to be solved somehow (and likely will rely on each individual game's devs implementing an option), I don't have as much of an issue with it if it's games like that where the reading is not exactly critical.. Try playing something like Crusader Kings 2 on a TV, though. I tried it. Once. :(

What The Hell Happened To The GamingOnLinux Design?

I like this better.

Can you fix the Sales page? If I click the name of a game, it should just take me to the page to buy it, not pop up another box with the exact same info I'm already looking at on the page. For external links in, such as from the RSS feed, I get it - you want it to pop up that box, and that's fine. But if I'm on the sales page already... Why?

Steam Controller May Not Arrive Until Near The End Of The Year

I figured as much. Frankly, given Valve's track record with, well, everything, I am shocked that SteamOS itself is even available already. But hey, input devices are extremely important, and they want to get this right. I'm glad for that.

Obduction Adventure Game Evaluating A Linux Port With Unreal Engine Supporting Linux

This would be awesome! I wrote to Cyan during the Kickstarter, and they told me at that time, "We have high hopes that Linux support will come, we just can't guarantee it." I didn't back the project as a result, because hopes don't run on Linux. But I'll buy when it's available if they do wind up bringing it, no question.
